We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with proven expertise in C++ software development, software architecture, and maritime autonomy systems. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership for the design, development, integration, and support of advanced autonomous and embedded software solutions across multiple strategic high-performance C++ applications for autonomous maritime systems. \nProvide technical leadership and mentorship to software engineers, promoting best practices in software design, code quality, and system integration. \nCollaborate with systems engineering, UX, QA, product management, and external partners to deliver high-quality software solutions. \nDrive Agile software development activities, including sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and continuous improvement initiatives. \nUtilise JIRA, GitLab, and CI/CD pipelines to manage development activities and ensure reliable software delivery. \nOversee and contribute to Qt-based UI development for mission-critical operator interfaces. \nEnsure software solutions are robust, scalable, secure, maintainable, and supportable throughout the product lifecycle. \nSupport development, integration, deployment, and DevOps activities within Linux (RHEL 8) environments.\nWhat you’ll bring\nThe role requires the following experience and skills:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. \nMinimum 5 years of professional experience in C++ software development, including embedded or real-time systems. \nProven experience providing technical leadership within Agile and DevSecOps environments. \nDemonstrated ability to design and deliver complex, high-reliability software systems. \nStrong Linux and Git-based development experience. \nExperience with modern software development workflows and CI/CD practices. \nStrong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.\nPreferred Additional Skills:\nExperience with the Qt framework for GUI development. \nKnowledge of DevOps tools, build automation, and CI/CD pipelines. \nExperience with autonomous systems and maritime software applications. \nUnderstanding of UX principles and user-centred design. \nExperience supporting IRAD, R&D, or innovation-focused
