They will have engineering responsibilities supporting the definition, design, development, integration & test of electro-optic systems for airborne, and ground, imaging surveillance systems. This role has both programmatic and technical responsibilities with challenging timelines, working to achieve a collective goal: deliver innovative solutions within schedule and budget constraints.\nEssential Functions:\nLead one or more cross functional teams typically with 4-10 members\nDeliver to program cost and schedule goals\nPlan and request team members in support of current and projected programs \nHelp define total systems design, technology, and processes to meet mission requirements\nCoordinate across functional engineering areas to design, develop and test products, resolve compatibility and interface problems across all subsystems\nPerform project capacity planning in conjunction with other project leaders and functional managers\nUtilize department capabilities such as Simulation, Modeling, Design, Agile Development, Integration & Test\nSupport business development activities including bid & proposal cost/schedule generation\nEvaluate performance measures and ensure system requirements are met \nPerform subsystem integration, technical risk assessment, technical planning, verification and validation, and supportability analyses\nUnderstand, implement, & audit engineering processes on programs and projects\nCreate and update essential engineering documents including processes, specifications, reports, plans, technical memos, and presentations\nRepresent engineering organization both internal and external to the organization\nMust be able to communicate clearly (written and verbal) to technical and non-technical personnel\nAbility to obtain US government clearance\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.\nPreferred Additional Skills:\nManagement of engineering projects\nBroad knowledge of Risk Management tools and techniques\nSkilled knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).\nUnderstanding of the design and development of electro-optical/infrared systems and associated opto-mechanical technology\nExperience with Electrical, Optical, Mechanical, Software and Systems Engineering\nFront-end concept development for new products\nModel Based Systems Engineering, Digital Engineering, & Agile Development\nSystem-level performance analysis (e.g., image analysis, thermal analysis, structural analysis, end-to-end performance, reliability analysis)\nHardware/Software design, integration, testing, and troubleshooting\nProject Engineering/Program Management of aerospace products with multi-site development teams\nUnderstanding of defense products and platforms\nEngineering Project Management - A track record of managing diverse & distributed personnel developing complex technology. Knowledge of digital engineering & modeling techniques including how their use benefit program execution. An understanding of agile development environments.
