Works to achieve operational targets with direct impact on the departmental results. Works closely with cross-functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system. Participates in all phases of the software development life cycle.\nEssential Functions:\nProficient with embedded C/C++, object-oriented design, real-time, multi-threaded programming\nProficient with DSP and RF concepts and technology\nExperience with real-time operating systems (e.g. VxWorks RTOS, Linux, QNX)\nAbility to quickly analyze and understand large and complex existing software systems\nAbility to develop software test procedures, software programs, and related documentation\nAbility to identify, track, and repair software defects\nAbility to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment\nAbility to clearly and succinctly convey information and ideas\nContributes to the development of goals for the department and planning efforts\nMust be able to obtain a US security clearance\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.\nPreferred Additional Skills:\nExperience with Git/Bitbucket\nExperience with continuous integration (e.g. Jenkins)\nExperience with the Agile methodology\nExperience with wireless networking software system design and development\nIn compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Maryland, and New York is $97,000 - $180,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
