The Specialist, Electrical Engineering leads and supports design efforts across the entire product lifecycle, from early concept development through testing, integration, and production. The position combines hands-on innovation with cross-functional collaboration to enhance reliability, performance, and mission readiness of critical power and control technologies. It also serves as a technical partner to internal teams and external customers, ensuring smooth execution of circuit operations and test activities.\nEssential Functions:\nSupport the design of electrical and electronic sub-system circuits for next-generation military circuit breaker and power conversion equipment, including design evaluations and qualification testing of end products for a premier defense supplier.\nAssist with, and in some cases leading, the integration, testing, packaging, and configuration of newly developed sub-system circuits into final products.\nTroubleshoot existing designs and driving innovative improvements in reliability and performance, including analyzing test data and recommending appropriate corrective actions.\nPerform hardware design and development activities throughout the full product lifecycle, from initial concept through production, including architecture, schematic design, supporting PCB development, prototyping, integration and testing, and manufacturing support.\nDesign analog, digital, and power electronics circuitry in accordance with system and product requirements.\nContribute to the electrical engineering team’s hardware development efforts, including circuit designs involving drivers, sensors, power supplies, controllers, signal processing, and monitoring and control functions.\nDevelop clear and comprehensive technical documentation, and present design approaches, test plans, results, and analyses to reviewers, customers, and other stakeholders.\nCollaborate closely with PCB designers to support circuit board layout activities for both prototype and production hardware.\nParticipate in test-to-specification activities, design verification, and reliability qualification testing.\nInterface with internal and external customers to support circuit operation, troubleshooting, and test-related activities.\nSupport manufacturing and production efforts by providing technical guidance and resolving hardware-related issues as needed.\nAbility to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.\n4+ years of experience in electrical hardware design and development, including at least one of the following areas: Electronics analysis\nAnalog and digital circuit design and simulation\nParts selection and Bill of Material (BOM) development\nSchematic capture\nSupport of PCB design and layout activities\nCircuit Card Assembly (CCA) bring-up and test\nHardware and system integration and testing\n\nAt least 1 year of experience working with power electronics, power switching devices, and control systems.\nAt least 1 year of experience assembling and testing engineering designs and prototypes using modern lab tools and test instrumentation, including power supplies, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.\nPreferred Additional Skills:\nDemonstrated experience supporting full life-cycle engineering design and development activities, from concept through production.\nStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.\nExperience working in a manufacturing environment, with an understanding of production support and design-for-manufacturability considerations.\nProficiency with MATLAB/Simulink for modeling, analysis, and development activities.\nExperience using PSpice or equivalent circuit simulation tools.\nCircuit design and schematic capture experience using tools such as Mentor Graphics PADS, Siemens Xpedition, or similar platforms.\nFamiliarity with applicable military specifications and standards.\n\nIn compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $92,500 - $171,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
