In this role, you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to design, prototype, and produce the next generation solutions to meet next generation platform requirements. Your expertise will help transform requirements into innovative and reliable design solutions that exceed customer expectations.\nTactical Airborne Systems (TAS) specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced suspension and release systems, airborne telemetry solutions, antenna apertures, and displays that support military and commercial aircraft, missiles and munitions.\nEssential Functions:\nProvide creative and innovative design solutions that meet product requirements for high performance, high pressure pneumatic mechanisms/systems.\n\nWork closely with a broad team from engineering and operations to collaborate on effective solutions to design challenges.\n\nSupport conceptual and detail design processes by using your background in CAD design\n\nProvide support to structural and thermal analysis tasks including first order hand calculations and FEA.\n\nPresent data in design review settings (e.g. PDR, CDR), both internal and external\n\nProvide strong contributions to the overall product design dialogue from inception to production.\n\nProvide hands-on support during development, integration and test activities.\n\nThis role requires your presence on-site in Amityville, New York\n\nUp to 10% travel may be required\n\nAbility to obtain a U.S. security clearance.\n\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.\n\nPreferred Additional Skills:\nDegree to be in mechanical engineering or a related field\n\nCAD design skills, including part, and assembly-level modeling in a mechanical design software such as Creo.\n\nCAD drafting skills with the ability to interpret and create 2D drawings\n\nStrong communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)\n\nBasic knowledge of structural analysis methods using hand calculations\n\nAbility to manage small to medium projects or processes that are both inside and outside of immediate job area.\n\nIn compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York (Greater NYC area) is $88,500.00 MIN - $164,500.00 MAX. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
