In this role, you’ll work closely with engineers, product teams, and subject matter experts to build high quality manuals, guides, and instructional content that users can rely on.\nThis position is designed for an experienced Technical Writer who can work under general supervision, contribute to projects with real operational impact, and help advance documentation quality through thoughtful improvements and collaboration.\nEssential Functions:\nCollaborate with cross functional teams to gather information and translate moderately complex technical concepts into clear, user focused documentation.\nDevelop and maintain user guides and reference guides, in unstructured FrameMaker, Visio, and Microsoft Office environments.\nInterpret technical drawings and convert them into accurate, easy to follow procedural steps.\nAsk targeted questions and partner with engineers and SMEs to validate content accuracy.\nIdentify documentation gaps and close them through research, interviews, and limited hands on exploration when appropriate.\nDevelop a practical understanding of the products and technologies you document and apply that knowledge to improve clarity, consistency, and usability.\nReview documents for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and editorial quality.\nSupport documentation standards and contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency and user experience.\nManage tasks and maintain visibility using collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.\nKeep documentation aligned with system updates and enhancements as they occur.\nUse Excel for documentation tracking, analysis, reporting, and workflow support. Advanced features are helpful but not required.\nAbility to obtain and maintain active clearance.\n\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.\n\nPreferred Additional Skills:\nActive Top Secret clearance preferred.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage tasks independently while working under general supervision.\nAbility to work collaboratively, handle multiple priorities, and adapt to changing project needs.\nFamiliarity with documentation tools such as FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat, and Visio.\nExperience with Atlassian tools (Jira, PLM).\nAbility to create supporting visuals such as illustrations, diagrams, and flowcharts.\nUnderstanding of the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC).\nExperience implementing AI enhanced documentation practices-such as content generation support, template automation, metadata enrichment, or workflow optimization-while adhering to responsible AI principles that ensure accuracy, transparency, security, and proper human
