As our business continues to grow, we are looking to add an Electrical Engineer to our Special Test Equipment Development Engineering Group.\nAs a member of the L3H FOS team, your primary focus would be the development of Specialized Test Equipment used to test products through all phases of design and production. You would also assume the responsibility of presenting designs to internal and external customers for reviewing and addressing technical issues. A solid understanding of circuit theory, components, firmware, software and troubleshooting skills is required.\nEssential Functions:\nFocus on the design and development of specialized systems and special test equipment for electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical products.\nExtensive analog and digital circuit design, microcontrollers, data acquisition, filtering/conditioning, printed circuit design, measurement error analysis, and future system-level engineering.\nUtilization of CAE tools such as Altium and SPICE, and laboratory equipment such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, function generators, etc. used to perform circuit design, verification and troubleshooting.\nWorking with or creating embedded firmware to control hardware. Working with various serial communication protocols such as RS-232, RS-422, SPI, I2C, etc.\nMust be willing to travel up to 10% of the year.\nMust be able to obtain a US Secret security clearance.\nSkilled in basic analog building blocks including differential amplifiers, op amps, LDOs, filters, and data converters\nSkilled in basic digital building blocks including logic gates, flip flops, timers, and filters\nProficient in power supply and power conditioning design\nProficient in power conversion concepts (AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC, Linear and Switching Supplies)\nProficient in serial communication buses including UART, SPI, and I2C\nProficient in Sensors and Converters (Temperature sensors, accelerometers, differential pressure sensors, gyroscopes, ADCs, DACs, etc.)\nProficient in general design best practices (EMI suppression, ESD protection, and Short circuit protection)\nProficient in module design including component selection, circuit analysis, circuit design, and layout\nSkilled in troubleshooting using standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators, meters, etc.)\nSkilled in modeling and simulation utilities (SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, etc.)\nProficient in schematic capture and/or board layout utilities (Altium, PADS, etc.)\nSkilled in Microsoft Office applications\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar and minimum 2+ years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 0 years of prior related experience.
