Working within a cross-functional team of Engineering, Production, Manufacturing Engineering, and Procurement, this role supports both New Product Introduction (NPI) and sustaining operations. The successful candidate balances autonomy with guidance, takes ownership of assigned work, and proactively identifies opportunities to improve processes, yield, and overall operational performance.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nProcess Development & Ownership\nDevelop, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes and procedures for MX products\nSupport the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing and test processes for wire harness and cable assemblies\nDevelop and maintain assembly, inspection, and test methods for wire harnesses, including processes such as wire preparation, crimping, termination, connector assembly, and electrical testing\nCreate and update PFMEA, control plans, SPC strategies, tooling, and test procedures\nTranslate engineering specifications into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes\nSupport documentation updates including work instructions and MES authoring\nNPI & Mechanical Project Execution\nLead or support moderately complex mechanical projects within Operations Engineering\nContribute to NPI activities, ensuring manufacturability and process readiness\nSupport NPI and sustaining activities involving wire harness and cable assemblies, including process development, manufacturability reviews, production readiness, and resolution of manufacturing issues\nIdentify gaps or adjacent tasks that improve overall product and process performance\nSupport design-for-manufacturability (DFM) discussions\nQuality & Continuous Improvement\nMonitor key performance metrics (First Pass Yield, rolling yield, defect trends)\nIdentify inefficiencies and implement process improvements\nPerform root cause analysis (8D) and drive corrective actions\nParticipate in or lead focused problem-solving (tiger teams)\nSupport Lean initiatives (5S, point-of-use, flow improvements, etc.)\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nCollaborate effectively with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams\nCommunicate technical updates, risks, and improvement opportunities proactively\nReview and implement engineering and production change requests\nSupport Manufacturing Engineers responsible for production cell teams as needed\nTechnology & Operational Support\nContribute to technology and capital equipment planning\nSupport implementation of manufacturing improvements and upgrades\nEnsure alignment with quality standards and operational goals\n\nWhat Success Looks Like\nDemonstrates ownership and delivers high-quality work with minimal supervision\nManages multiple priorities and meets commitments consistently\nIdentifies and acts on process improvement opportunities\nEffectively resolves moderately complex manufacturing and quality issues\nBuilds strong cross-functional relationships and contributes to team success\nBalances assigned tasks with autonomy and identifies adjacent value-adding work\nApplies manufacturing tools effectively and identifies improvement opportunities\nProduces high-quality work, manages complexity, and proactively identifies risks\nProactively communicates with stakeholders and provides clear technical updates\nWorks effectively across teams and supports peers\nUses data and experience to resolve common issues; escalates when needed\nManages multiple priorities, delivers reliably, and meets deadlines\nTakes ownership of tasks and ensures quality and timely completion\nIdentifies and contributes to process and operational improvements\nDemonstrates adaptability and self-directed learning\nSupports team members and builds strong working relationships\nDemonstrates reliability, accountability, and a positive, solutions-oriented mindset\nSkills & Qualifications\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a project-based environment\nWorking knowledge of electro-mechanical manufacturing and process engineering\nExperience developing or supporting manufacturing and test processes for wire harness or cable assemblies, preferably within electronics, aerospace, automotive, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments\nWorking knowledge of wire harness assembly methods, including wire preparation, crimping, termination, connector assembly, inspection, and electrical testing\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills\nExperience with Lean manufacturing principles\nAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics\nStrong written and verbal technical communication skills\n\nAssets:\nAS9100 experience\nExperience with SolidWorks, Composer, AutoCAD, or MES systems\nLean / Six Sigma Green Belt (or equivalent experience)\nPMP or P.Eng designation\nEducation & Experience\nDegree or diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related engineering discipline\n 2-4 years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in a high-tech environment\nExperience supporting process development, production, or quality improvements\nRelevant experience supporting the manufacture and test of wire harness, cable, or similar electro-mechanical assemblies\n*This posting is for a current vacancy.
