The candidate will lead Radio Frequency (RF)/Wireless engineers (RF design, Electromagnetic Effects (EME)), Electrical engineers (digital, mixed signal, FPGA) and Mechanical engineers (electronic packaging, pilot assembly, environmental testing). The candidate should have design experience developing/testing RF/Digital LRU’s (Line Replaceable Units) for airborne requirements. The candidate should have knowledge of MIL-STD-461 and RTCA DO-160 regarding EME testing and delivery of military aircraft. This position is responsible for managing the activities of Hardware Engineering in support of the delivery of military aircraft under contract. In addition, they will plan and administer procedures and budgets, lead staff hiring and development, and make capital & non-capital budgetary recommendations.\nEssential Functions:\nDevelop and/or review and approve Hardware engineering bids.\nForecast staff vs demand and develop hiring plans to maintain staffing levels to meet current and future business needs, inclusive of quantity / skills / experience.\nOversee pilot assembly activities.\nOversee the environmental lab and testing activities.\nChampion continuous improvement and cost reduction with sector / segment leadership.\nDefine and endorse allocation of capital to maximize test capability and productivity.\nDevelop and deploy Hardware Engineering process standards, enabling best in class execution, inclusive of quality, schedule and cost performance.\nPlan and manage department level budgets.\nCollaborate and communicate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders to include leadership, program management, and other engineering disciplines.\nDrafting and submittal of management-level reports.\nLead root cause / corrective action (RCCA) investigations using disciplined problem-solving methods and statistical analysis. (5 Whys, fishbone, etc.)\nAbility to travel 10-15%.\nMust be able to acquire and maintain a DoD secret security clearance.\nOther duties as assigned by Supervisor.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree with 12 years of experience leading RF and digital hardware design teams within a DoW/DoD environment. \nGraduate Degree with 10 years of experience leading RF and digital hardware design teams within a DoW/DoD environment.\nIn Lieu of a degree, a minimum of 16 years of experience leading RF and digital hardware design teams within a DoW/DoD environment.\nPreferred Additional Skills:\nExperience working across multi-functional teams (program office / project engineering, system engineering, software engineering, supply chain, quality, vendors, and customers).\nEffective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills from executive to front line levels, with an ability to collaborate with others. \nAbility to motivate, manage, and develop a highly diverse team with excellent consultative, influencing, and conflict management skills.\nExperience working in a DoD environment.\nDesigning RF and digital hardware.\nImplementing signal processing algorithms in FPGA
