Qualified candidates will apply basic engineering design and/or analytical theory with understanding of structural analysis for application to integrated system design.\nEssential Functions:\nResponsible for research, development of layouts, preparation of engineering drawings, and coordination of design activities with Tooling, Flight Sciences, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure that designs meet requirements at minimum cost.\nAble to lead engineers in the design of detail parts, assemblies, and large installations for aircraft structure modifications.\nIncorporate feedback from multiple parties and stakeholders into their designs and installation packages.\nReview and approve the design of detail parts and assemblies to support aircraft modification installations.\nDesigns will be accomplished using world-class, three-dimensional solid modeling CAD tools and work will be accomplished with senior-level design engineers. Mechanical design engineers can work on a wide variety of tasks and aircraft systems on various aircraft platforms.\nKnowledge and familiarity with part configuration database software.\nMeeting delivery schedules, tracking budgets, and aspects of project management.\nFamiliar with aircraft systems or structure.\nFamiliarity with aircraft structural repairs, STC’s, or general aircraft modification.\nExcellent written, verbal, communication skills.\nComputer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office.\nAble to move to and from the flight line, work in an aircraft production environment, and board/exit aircraft as required.\nAbility to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret security clearance.\nOther duties as assigned by Supervisor.\n\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree with six (6) years of prior Mechanical Design Engineering experience within the Aerospace industry. \nGraduate Degree with four (4) years of prior Mechanical Design Engineering experience within the Aerospace industry. \nIn lieu of a degree, minimum of ten (10) years of prior related experience. \nMinimum 4 years CAD skills (NX/Unigraphics preferred, ProE, Catia).\n\nPreferred Additional Skills:\nActive Secret security
