May perform task management activities for other software engineers.\nThe Software Engineer, Senior Specialist Level is a senior professional with strong job area knowledge and broad knowledge of project management, managing complex projects and processes with general oversight to achieve operational targets and goals with direct impact on team and departmental results.\nEssential Functions:\nPerform all job functions with a positive, professional attitude\nPerform other appropriate duties as requested, directed, or assigned \nMentor less experienced team members as appropriate \nEffectively manage multiple task assignments \nAdhere to corporate processes and standards for all activities and deliverables during all phases of involvement in the software development life cycle \nTrack and report status of tasks, deliverables, and issues to software engineering team \nInvestigate and address requirement violations in functional testing and production software as needed \nProvide input and effort for the technical verification of all technical, functional and corporate requirements prior to delivery of software components and applications \nUnit and component test software components and applications to ensure quality of deliverables \nImplement requirements into software components and applications according to technical design \nEffectively present technical designs to software engineering, program management, and other team members \nTranslate requirements into appropriate technical designs \nInteract directly with engineering team and program management staff to analyze and understand requirements \nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics field and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. \n4 years Experience with C# and Visual Studio required (Java experience a potential substitute), WPF/XAML, principles, practices, and techniques of object-oriented design/development, relevant technologies, software development methodologies, and programming languages\nAbility to obtain a US Secret security clearance\nPreferred Additional Skills:\nAbility to understand and utilize UML (Unified Modeling Language)\nAbility to identify and apply design patterns as appropriate\nAzure DevOps source control (GIT) and pipeline development (YAML)\nA strong understanding of SOLID principles\nExperience with multithreaded application development.\nStrong knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of object-oriented design/development\nStrong understanding of regulatory standards impact on software development\nStrong knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of software unit, component, and integration testing\nStrong knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of source code management and defect tracking\nAbility to effectively utilize both written and verbal communication
