Their primary duties involve directing the development and implementation of activities to meet delivery, quality, and cost objectives. Prioritizes schedules based on product introduction, resource availability, and materials supply. Controls and influences, and is accountable for direct and indirect labour. Develops schedules and resource requirements for assigned areas. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nManage and lead the cell team(s) to provide Operational Excellence including;Employee development, coaching and cross-training\nEfficient communication across all shifts and functional teams\nPrioritize workload and distribute labour across the broader operations team as required\n\nDirectly responsible for guiding technical professionals and support staff to achieve product line goals\nAccountable for resource capacity planning and schedule attainment\nDrives closure to identified workmanship issues through root cause investigations\nLeads lean Manufacturing, Continuous improvement and Quality initiatives for area and control\nDefine performance metrics and drive performance to meet goals\nProvide management team with status reports, including team metrics\nDevelop strategic and tactical plans for continuous improvement in processes and systems\nSupport and participate in Operational Excellence activities\nDevelop strong working relationships with the Operations Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Customer Service and Finance teams\nAccountable for ensuring staff complete the appropriate technical and compliance training\nAccountable for enforcing company policy and procedures and compliance programs including but not limited to EH&S, Quality and Business Ethics\nDesired Skills and Knowledge\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nStrong ability to understand and communicate complex technical issues to a non-technical audience\nManagement and leadership skills with proven ability to inspire a team in a growing and changing environment\nTalented at developing solid working relationships with staff across all business units and collaborating with diverse personality types\nProven track record for implementing positive change\nAS9100 knowledge and/or relevant Quality Management experience\nLean Manufacturing knowledge and practice\nProven track record implementing productivity improvements\nStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, ERP\nFamiliarity with manufacturing systems and functionality\nExperience in a high tech manufacturing, aerospace/defense environment\nMust be eligible to meet requirements for Controlled Goods Program (CGP)\nKnowledge of ISO9000/AS9100 standards is considered a plus\nEducation and Experience\nUnderstands basic supervisory approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, and process execution. Typically requires practical knowledge of technical or operational practices within assigned discipline.\nBachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.\nIn lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.\nExperience in a high tech manufacturing, aerospace/defense environment\nMust be eligible to meet requirements for Controlled Goods Program (CGP)\nKnowledge of ISO9000/AS9100 standards is considered a plus\n*This posting is for a current vacancy.
