Provides technical leadership, mentorship, and oversight across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture, design, implementation, integration, test, deployment, and sustainment. Champions Agile software development practices, fostering iterative delivery, continuous improvement, and close collaboration across cross-functional teams. Partners with Business Development, Program Management, and senior leadership to support strategic planning, research and development priorities, and resource alignment, while contributing to customer engagements, operational decisions, and growth initiatives.\nProvides leadership in resolving technical and execution challenges, influences organizational objectives and practices, and identifies emerging technologies and innovation opportunities to strengthen competitiveness and support future business pursuits.\nEssential Functions:\nLead and support Software Engineering personnel across multiple programs, products, and technical efforts.\nProvide functional oversight for software engineering activities including development, architecture, design, implementation, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment.\nPartner with program leaders to align staffing, priorities, technical direction, and software resources with business and customer needs.\nConduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and support employee development, engagement, and retention.\nSupport recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning for the Software Engineering.\nContribute to proposal efforts, including technical solutions, staffing plans, cost estimates, and basis of estimate development.\nSupport technical reviews, software risk assessments, and root cause/corrective action activities to improve execution and product quality.\nMentor team members and promote knowledge sharing, Agile practices, continuous improvement, and technical skill development.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience, including substantial embedded software background.. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
