From long-range covert surveillance missions to search and rescue operations, our MX-series systems, and the mission systems solutions they produce stabilized high-magnification electro-optical and infrared images from airborne, marine and ground based platforms, enabling our customers to see first and act first.\nAbout the Role\nThe Test Engineering Electrical Sustaining team at L3Harris is responsible to provide daily support for the manufacturing test solutions used for in house production as well as production at our vendors (contract manufacturers). Our test solutions are automated functional tests we develop for testing Circuit Card Assemblies, Electromechanical Assemblies, Optical/Laser Systems and for fully assembled products. This role also includes ownership for upgrading the existing test fixture designs to improve test coverage as well as making them more robust.\nEssential Skills Required\nCan work well and integrate within a team environment.\nSelf-driven and motivated with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.\nStrong troubleshooting/debugging and problem-solving skills.\nStrong understanding of what it takes to have a production ready solution.\nExcellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills.\nExperience with Development Lifecycle methodologies (Git Flow)\nSupport quality practices (AS9100 and ISO9001)\nTasks to be Accomplished\nSupport activities related to test fixtures and software test applications for in-house production, vendors (contract manufacturers), Worldwide service centers and In-Country Assemblies\nDebug and repair Test jigs on the test repair rack. \nUpdate test fixture designs and software to improve test coverage due to product design changes\nProvide electrical technical support to Circuit Card Repair Cell\nBuild, update and repair test WHAs (to IPC/WHMA-A-620 Standards), Test Boxes and Test Racks\nTake ownership to update current mechanical, electrical drawings and process documentation related to test fixtures and test racks\nManage and disposition Material Review Board inventory and manage aging inventory reports\nSupport regular MRB review meetings for CCAs\nCreate WICIs for CCA rework/conversions\nWork with Design Engineering and Operations Engineering to debug and identify workmanship/thermal/design issues and electrical failures to improve yields\nIdentify and monitor first pass yield and rolling yields, failure trends & systemic issues by conducting 8D root cause analysis and implementing permanent corrective actions of electrical assemblies and circuit cards\nLead/Support tiger teams in quality issues as they pertain to electrical systems and test fixtures\nSet realistic target dates for completion of tasks and project milestones, execute and complete on time.\nTechnical Skills Required\nPractical understanding/implementation of various technologies in Electronics and Test Engineering.\nPractical understanding/implementation of circuit card assemblies, wiring harnesses, and circuit card manufacturing processes.\nPractical understanding/implementation of designing custom circuit cards using OrCad Capture and Allegro PCB layout.\nPractical understanding/implementation of designing with microcontrollers, FPGA's and programming in VHDL.\nPractical understanding/implementation of knowledge of communications protocols (i.e. RS232, RS422, USB, I2C, CAN Bus, Ethernet etc.).\nPractical understanding/implementation of with SDI video standards and signal analysis techniques\nPractical understanding/implementation of designing and developing functional tests and/or automation systems using LabVIEW & C#.\nPractical understanding/implementation of JTAG Boundary Scan testing. \nExperience & Education Requirements\nRequires practical knowledge of job area.\nBachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.\nGraduate’s Degree and a minimum of 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.\nIn lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.\n*This posting is for a current vacancy.
