Role Purpose

You will lead the electrical design that powers every competition and non-competition venue of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. As Senior Manager, Energy Design Engineering, you become the electrical subject-matter expert for Games venues and facilities, setting technical direction for consultants and defining clear electrical objectives and strategies. You guide electrical design development for temporary and permanent power, work with utilities and temporary power providers, and build sustainable energy solutions into the designs that keep competition, broadcast, and operations running.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the electrical subject-matter expert for Games venues and facilities across competition and non-competition sites.
  • Establish and communicate electrical technical direction to design consultants, reviewing their work against LA28 requirements.
  • Define electrical technical objectives, anticipate information needs, and propose electrical strategies or solutions where appropriate.
  • Lead electrical design development, including load studies, capacity analysis, and temporary power overlay on existing infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with electric utilities, temporary power providers, and the Energy Program Management team on design and delivery.

Required Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering; or 7 years of equivalent experience in electrical infrastructure and temporary electrical infrastructure design.
  • At least two years of leadership experience, with electrical design and delivery experience preferably in the sport or live event industry.
  • Direct experience managing electrical design development for infrastructure or temporary power projects from concept through construction documents.
  • Experience working with electric utilities or temporary power providers on service requests, capacity, design, and delivery.
  • Experience implementing sustainable energy solutions into electrical design, such as renewable supply or efficient load strategies.

Valued Experience

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM360.
  • Fluent working with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Presenting concisely to executives, contractors, and government agencies.
  • Ability to implement change and manage and mitigate risk.
  • Extremely detail-oriented with excellent organization skills.

What We Offer

  • Technical ownership of the power design behind every Olympic and Paralympic Games venue.
  • Career-defining exposure to large-scale temporary and sustainable power.
  • A collaborative team that values technical rigor and pragmatic delivery.
  • A direct hand in delivering the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

What This Role Means for the Games
