Specializing in clinical and specialty testing, the Clinical Scientist reviews clinical protocols, develops analytical strategies, engages in scientific exchange, and conducts comprehensive data reviews. \nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nServes as a SME in clinical and specialty testing, providing guidance and consultation to internal and external customers. \nReviews clinical protocols to determine testing needs and develops the analytical strategy within a global laboratory network. \nSupports global analytical harmonization initiatives including strategy guidance, data review, and expansion efforts. \nParticipates in relevant scientific exchange with sponsors, laboratories and internal LabConnect personnel. \nPerforms data review with respect to clinical data, harmonization trending, reference ranges, abnormal flagging and critical value reporting. \nPartners with cross-functional teams within LabConnect to investigate client escalations or technical issues and provide acceptable solutions within expected timelines. \nSupports scientific requests that come from various departments in the company including but not limited to Client Services and Business Development Operations.\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor's degree in life sciences or related health field discipline. \n5 + years of relevant industry experience in central lab/clinical research, including at least 2 + years of relevant bench experience. \nMedical Lab Scientist (MLS) Certification highly desired\n\nSkills and Ability\nAnalytical and problem-solving skills with ability to come to conclusions and make clear concise recommendations based on scientific and technical information. \nAbility to exercise independent judgment in review of protocols, testing strategy, and clinical objectives. \nAbility to influence and provide strategic recommendations to clients and internal decision makers. \nSense of urgency to meet deadlines with ability to independently manage multiple projects and initiatives concurrently. \nFamiliarity with CLSI guidelines and the application of standards in a global central lab environment \nCollaborative with excellent communication skills working with internal and external partners. \nStrong organizational and time management skills \nThe ability to apply basic concepts of statistical analysis.\nHandles detailed, complex concepts and problems, balances multiple tasks simultaneously, and makes rapid decisions as needed.
