Together, we’re improving health and improving lives.\nLabcorp is seeking a Cytogenetic Technologist Trainee to join our team in Santa Fe, NM.\nWork Schedules: Sunday - Thursday: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm and Tuesday - Saturday: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.\nTraining Schedule: 1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm\nThis role comes with a $1,000 sign-on bonus\nNew Grads Welcome - Full Training Provided\nJob Responsibilities:\nPerform routine procedures including tissue culture, harvesting, slide making and banding, automated karyotyping, reagent preparation, and FISH processing, probing, and scoping. \nDetermine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria \nPerform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures \nMonitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality \nDemonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving. \nPrepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls \nReport accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care \nPerform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures \nIdentify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary \nAssist with processing of specimens when needed \nMaintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment \nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology \nPreferred Qualification:\nCurrent or prior Labcorp experience \nASCP or AMT certification \nAdditional Job Standards:\n Previous clinical laboratory testing experience \nProficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems \nAbility to work independently and within a team environment \nHigh level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills \nAble to pass a standardized color blindness test \nAt Labcorp we have a passion in helping people live happy and healthy lives.
