Join us in our mission to improve health and improve lives.\nWork Schedule\nThis is a full-time, exempt (salaried) position assigned to a First Shift schedule, with standard business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Business needs may occasionally require flexibility in work hours, including earlier, later, or additional hours, with reasonable notice provided when possible.\nResponsibilities:\nStrategic Leadership\nDefine and execute the enterprise DevOps roadmap aligned with business priorities\nChampion CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, observability, and cloud-native architectures\nPresent delivery metrics, innovation initiatives, and risk mitigation strategies to executive stakeholders\nBuild and mentor a global DevOps team to scale platform capabilities\nTechnical Excellence & Innovation\nOversee Terraform implementations for multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure)\nLead containerization strategies using ECS and EKS with secure, scalable orchestration\nDrive automation of infrastructure provisioning, deployment pipelines, and monitoring\nEvaluate and integrate AI-powered tools into DevOps workflows (code generation, automated testing, incident response, predictive analytics)\nEvaluate and implement emerging tools that improve productivity, resilience, and developer experience\nCollaboration & Enablement\nPartner with application teams, architects, and security to enable high-velocity, compliant delivery\nAct as trusted advisor to business units, aligning DevOps capabilities with cross-functional needs\nGuide teams in adopting AI assistants and automation tools to accelerate development cycles\nPromote experimentation and continuous improvement across engineering practices\nEnsure operational excellence through advanced observability and proactive incident management\nTeam Development & Metrics\nRecruit and develop top talent committed to innovation and operational excellence\nFoster a culture of ownership, empowerment, and continuous learning\nLeverage engineering productivity platforms (e.g., LinearB, DX) or custom metrics to track DORA metrics, cycle time, and team efficiency\nUse data-driven insights to identify bottlenecks, optimize workflows, and improve organizational agility\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor's Degree\n7 or more years in DevOps/Platform Engineering\n2 or more years managing engineering teams using Agile methodologies\nPreferred Qualifications:\n2 or more years Unix/Linux system administration\n3 or more years hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and Infrastructure as Code\nAdditional Job Standards:\nHealthcare industry experience\nExperience implementing and using engineering productivity metrics platforms (LinearB, DX, or similar) or building custom metrics dashboards\nExperience evaluating or integrating AI tools into software delivery pipelines (e.g., GitHub Copilot, AI-powered testing, AIOps platforms)\nAbility to influence stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership\nStrong communication skills-able to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences\nSelf-directed with demonstrated initiative and ability to work autonomously\nLabcorp is seeking a Director of DevOps Engineering to lead enterprise-wide DevOps transformation and elevate our software delivery capabilities. You'll build and mentor a high-performing team, drive adoption of modern practices, and shape the technical direction of our platform infrastructure across AWS and Azure.\nAs a servant leader, you'll empower your team with autonomy and ownership while removing roadblocks to their success. You're comfortable learning new technologies on the fly and making pragmatic decisions that balance scalability, speed-to-market, and maintainability.
