Together, we’re improving health and improving lives.\nEHS Specialist II\nLabcorp is seeking an EHS Specialist II to join our team in Shanghai, China.\nJob Responsibilities:\nMaintains safety programs in areas such as biosafety, chemical hygiene, exposure control, radiation safety, ergonomics, and/or occupational health.\nMaintains EHS procedures, SOPs, and compliance documentation.\nSupports regulatory inspections, audits, and internal assessments.\nTracks and closes corrective and preventive actions.\nInteracts with regulatory agencies, as requested by EHS Management.\nLeads EHS Committees and/or tasking such as fire drills or evacuations.\nManages Safety Data Sheet inventory and/or prepare regulatory reports for air permits, wastewater permits, or hazardous waste reports.\nConducts employee training, identifying, and managing EHS risks through risk assessments.\nLeads or co-leads incident, exposure, injury, and near-miss investigations including root cause analysis and corrective actions tracking.\nSupports contractor safety and permit-to-work activities.\nDevelops, conducts, and facilitates EHS learning programs.\nDelivers EHS training, laboratory safety briefings, and safety talks.\nSupports onboarding and staff refresher training.\nUpdates chemical hygiene plans and proper storage, handling, and disposal practices as needed.\nProvides spill response preparedness and post incident follow up.\nResponds to hazardous chemical emergencies.\nSupports hazardous waste management, chemical disposal, and spill prevention activities.\nImplements waste minimization practices under the direction of the EHS Management.\nProvides first aid and CPR on an emergency basis, after certified training is complete.\nMay provide waste management and respirator fit testing services.\nLeads workplace EHS inspections and audits.\nIdentifies environmental aspects of site activities and conducts risk-based evaluations to determine impact on the environment.\nEvaluates EHS programs for compliance with a focus on continuous improvement.\nAssists with environmental compliance inspections, reporting, and corrective actions.\nCoordinates waste vendors and ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping.\nParticipates in laboratory commissioning, modifications, and new activity risk reviews.\nCollaborates with EHS colleagues on multiple projects and interacts with site leadership and employees as needed.\nPromotes a strong safety culture through engagement with frontline staff and leadership.\nTracks EHS metrics, incident trends, inspections, and audit findings.\nPrepares routine EHS reports and dashboards.\nIdentifies trends and recommend improvements to reduce risk.\nMay participate in employee diversity and inclusive groups.\nOther duties as assigned.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Sciences or Technology\n8 or more years of EHS experience\nIn-depth understanding of country-specific regulatory requirements and technical standards relevant to assigned programs\nPreferred Qualifications:\nProfessional experience in a laboratory or research & development environment.\nProfessional certification in Safety, Industrial Hygiene or Environmental Areas.\nCertificates in Radiology, Biological Safety, Chemical Management and Handling, or Occupational Health.\nEnrollment in continuing education and development is expected as a condition of employment if minimum education or certifications are not held.\nProficiency in English\nAdditional Job Standards:\nHave a detailed understanding of document management and attention to details.\nMust have excellent verbal, written, and communication skills along with excellent interpersonal skills as to work with other team members, provide employee trainings, and present data to team leaders and site leadership.\nHave great problem solving/trouble shooting skills.\nHave strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.\nProficiency in computer programs/software such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.\nHave the ability and competency to work individually and also in a team setting.\nAbility to work independently on routine and moderately complex EHS activities.\nMust have the ability to plan, prioritize, and complete multiple tasks with the ability to self-lead.\nFlexibility is key in this role as priorities change quickly. Must be able to move between tasks and projects on short notice and quickly change priorities based on customer and department needs, while meeting project deadlines.\nPractical risk assessment and hazard control skills.\nSound judgment and problem-solving ability.\nAbility to influence and partner with clinicians, scientists, and support staff.\nStrong attention to detail and follow-through.\nContinuous improvement mindset.\nAble to wear personal protective equipment as required.\nAble to work in noisy environments.\nAbility to lift at least 25 pounds.\nComfortable working in and around vivarium’s as applicable.\nAble to work at a computer as well as walk around location, entering laboratories and facility support spaces.\nNon-routine on-call, emergency response, if business needs.\nMay travel to other Labcorp locations on an as needed basis; less than 20%.\nAt Labcorp we have a passion for helping people live happy and healthy lives.
