Together, we’re improving health and improving lives.\n*** $5,000 Sign On Bonus *** (current Labcorp employees not eligible)\nLabcorp is seeking a Histotology Laboratory Supervisor to join our grossing team in San Diego, CA.\nWork Schedule: Monday - Friday7:30am - 4:00pm\nJob Responsibilities\nManage the daily operations of assigned laboratory group to ensure that specimens are properly shipped and received, tests are performed accurately and efficiently, and results are reported in a timely manner\n\nMonitor daily workflow in the lab, plan/ schedule for adequate assay coverage, and troubleshoot/ escalate problems, as necessary\n\nDirectly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory testing staff.\n\nAssist with the hiring of qualified, enthusiastic employees, including technical and non-technical team members\n\nMonitor time tracking system for employees and ensuring attendance expectations are being met\n\nEngage in continuous process and service improvement\n\nProvide technical troubleshooting and decision making\n\nEnsure QC and maintenance of all laboratory equipment\n\nEvaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendations based on thorough evaluation of technical, quality and efficiency impact\n\nAssist with monitoring sample progression and respond to sample status inquiries from customer service as needed\n\nPerform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operations\n\nEnsure all work is in accordance with state and Federal regulations, organizational policy, and accreditation/compliance requirements\n\nStay abreast of industry trends, local trends, and any emergency management\n\nMeet regularly with direct reports. Provide coaching and constructive feedback, and career development discussions. Write and deliver performance reviews and build a positive team environment\n\nMinimum Qualifications\nAssociate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology\n\n3 years or more prior histology experience\n\nPreferred Qualification:\n1 year or more leadership experience\n\nBachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology\n\nHistology and/or ASCP certifications\n\nCurrent or prior Labcorp experience\n\nAdditional Job Standards\nStrong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulations\n\nUnderstanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures\n\nProficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office\n\nStrong communication skills; both written and verbal\n\nHigh level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills\n\nComfortability making decisions in a changing environment\n\nAbility to handle the physical requirements of the position\n\nAble to pass a standardized color blindness test\n\nAt Labcorp we have a passion in helping people live happy and healthy lives.
