Together, we’re improving health and improving lives.\nLabcorp is seeking a Histotechnologist to join our team in Phoenix, AZ.\nWork Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 2PM - 10:30 PM\nJob Responsibilities\nProcess human tissue and body fluid specimens in preparation for microscopic exam\nPerform technical duties related to the production of histopathological slides of surgical specimens\nSection the embedded tissue, using a microtome and mount the section properly on a microscope slide\nPerform various immunohistochemical tests on formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections\nProcess mounted sections through routine and special staining procedures\nProperly orient and embed surgical tissue specimens\nPrepare the stains and reagents needed for special procedures\nReport accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care \nOperate and maintain manual and automated instruments\nPerform and document equipment maintenance as needed\nRecord equipment log data in an accurate and timely manner\nPerform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures \nAdhere to the laboratory's quality control policies\nFollow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, analysis and reporting\nDocument problems that may affect test performance and perform corrective actions as needed\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Histology OR Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science with 1 or more years of experience in a clinical lab (within the past 5 years) or completion of a Histology certification program (min 9 months)\nPreferred Qualification:\nCurrent or prior Labcorp experience\nHistology and/or ASCP certifications\nAdditional Job Standards\nFamiliarity with routine histology procedures and equipment\nImmunohistochemistry experience\nComfortability embedding both large and small specimens\nAbility to accurately read all labels and documents\nHighly organized with a strong attention to detail\nExperience working in a high volume laboratory environment\nFamiliarity with laboratory SOPs and safety protocols\nAble to pass a standardized color blindness test\nBenefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
