Together, we’re improving health and improving lives.\nLabcorp is seeking a Facilities Engineering Intern to join our Facilities Team located in Durham, North Carolina, with the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule.\nWork Schedule:\nDays/Hours: Monday-Friday / 9:00 AM-5:00 PM / 40 hours per week\nJob Responsibilities:\nSupport the development of a standardized global maintenance and testing program for laboratory facility electrical systems.\nResearch industry standards, maintenance best practices, and reliability requirements for critical facility infrastructure.\nAssess existing generator maintenance and testing practices across laboratory sites, including core laboratory and biopharma facilities.\nCollect, organize, and analyze maintenance data from multiple sites to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.\nSupport the development of a comprehensive Global Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for electrical system inspection, testing, preventive maintenance, and documentation.\nEvaluate current maintenance processes and compare practices against industry standards to support consistency and operational excellence.\nUtilize Excel and spreadsheets to organize data, document findings, and support recommendations.\nCollaborate with Facilities team members and site stakeholders to gather information and support global maintenance standardization initiatives.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nCurrent enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program.\nWorking towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, or a related field.\nAdditional Job Standards:\nStrong interest in facilities engineering, electrical systems, maintenance, and infrastructure reliability.\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet-based data collection and analysis.\nStrong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to collect, organize, and interpret information from multiple sources.\nStrong attention to detail and organizational skills.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to collaborate with cross-functional teams and work independently on assigned projects.\nInterest in industry standards, preventive maintenance, and operational process improvement.\nRising juniors and seniors are preferred.\nJoin Labcorp’s 2027 Global Internship Program and take the first step toward a meaningful career in healthcare innovation!
