Together, we’re improving health and improving lives.\nLabcorp is seeking a Lab Ops Director to join our team in Holyoke, MA.\nJob Responsibilities\nDirect operational activities of the Chemistry, Hematology, Immunoassay, Microbiology, and Infectious Molecular testing departments, including technical and non-technical operations\nFiscal oversight of the departments, including labor, reagent, and capital expense\nResponsible for acquiring additional capital resources necessary to maintain service levels\nDirectly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory supervisors, and have accountability for all staff within the departments\nEnsure the laboratory provides market leading service levels to meet the needs of our customers and patients, including meeting thresholds for key performance indicators\nOversee the implementation of new methodologies, instrumentation, and quality control\nSupport business development, participate in external customer relationships, and collaborate with internal customers to meet business objectives\nPrepare and provide presentations to external and internal customers\nCollaborate with the medical director, technical director, QA, laboratory managers, discipline directors, other laboratory directors, and corporate operations\nOversee laboratory audits, with accountability to implement corrective, preventative, and effectiveness actions for findings and deficiencies\nOversee training, talent development and employee engagement initiatives, ensuring policies and procedures are followed\nKeep the VP of Operations apprised of all relevant issues\nMaintain a clean and safe work environment\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology\n6 years of or more of clinical diagnostics laboratory experience within a supervisory or management role\n3 years or more of experience managing people leaders\nPreferred Qualifications\nASCP or AMT certification \nAdditional Job Standards\nPrior experience in a high volume, clinical laboratory environment\nStrong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulations\nUnderstanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures\nProven success in training and developing both technical and non-technical employees\nAbility to problem solve and provide solutions under minimal supervision\nPrevious experience working in an autonomous environment with a high degree of accountability\nStrong presentation and communication skills; both written and verbal\nHigh level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills\nProficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office\nAbility to handle the physical requirements of the position\nAt Labcorp we have a passion for helping people live happy and healthy lives. Apply today!\n**Pay Range: $150,000 - $180,000 annually\nAll job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.\nThe position is also eligible for an annual bonus under the Labcorp Bonus Plan.
