Together, we’re improving health and improving lives.\nLabcorp is seeking an On-Site Service Engineer to join our team.\nLocation: Raritan, NJ\nWork Schedule: Monday through Friday, 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM (3rd Shift). Occasional shift changes, on-call support, weekend, holiday, and after-hours work may be required based on business needs.\nTraining: Initial training will be conducted at Protedyne's Bloomfield, CT facility and other locations for approximately 2 to 3 months.\nWork Authorization: This position requires permanent authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future. Sponsorship (including H-1B, OPT/CPT, EAD, or other temporary work authorization) is not available.\nJob Responsibilities\nEquipment Service & Support\nOperate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Propel, Matrix, and Propel Plate Accelerator laboratory automation systems.\nPerform routine and emergency maintenance activities to maximize equipment performance and uptime.\nConduct preventive maintenance inspections and service activities on assigned systems.\nDiagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation-related issues.\nInstallation, Testing & Validation\nExecute Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of automation equipment at manufacturing facilities.\nInstall laboratory automation equipment at customer sites.\nConduct Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) following installation activities.\nPerform system upgrades, qualifications, validation activities, and testing.\nCustomer Support\nProvide technical support and issue resolution in a fast-paced customer environment.\nRespond to service requests and support customers in maintaining operational equipment.\nDeliver equipment operator training, as needed.\nProvide recommendations and technical guidance regarding equipment operation and maintenance.\nInventory & Administrative Support\nMaintain assigned service inventory and ensure inventory accuracy.\nComplete required service documentation, including customer feedback reports, time reports, inventory reports, equipment checklists, and maintenance records.\nMaintain accurate service and maintenance documentation.\nContinuous Improvement\nMaintain proficiency on assigned equipment through ongoing training and professional development.\nSupport additional projects and assignments as required.\nMinimum Qualifications\nAssociate degree in Engineering, Electronics, Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, or another technical discipline with 3 or more years of field service experience supporting complex automation systems\n3 or more years of field service experience supporting complex automation systems.\nAdditional Job Standards\nTechnical Knowledge\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.\nKnowledge of troubleshooting and diagnostic methodologies.\nExperience using diagnostic tools and instrumentation such as digital voltmeters (DVMs), oscilloscopes, and micrometers.\nExperience supporting medical, laboratory, or healthcare automation systems.\nKnowledge of electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and automation systems.\nAbility to lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.\nCustomer Service & Communication\nStrong customer service and relationship-management skills.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nAbility to instruct customers on equipment operation and maintenance.\nAbility to accurately assess customer-reported issues and communicate effective solutions.\nProblem Solving\nStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills.\nAbility to diagnose complex equipment and system issues.\nAbility to prioritize service needs and develop effective solutions to maintain system availability.\nAbility to exercise sound judgment in field-service environments.\nProfessional Effectiveness\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision.\nAbility to take ownership of on-site service responsibilities.\nAbility to maintain professionalism in demanding customer environments.\nDemonstrated adaptability and commitment to continuous learning.\nAbout the Role\nThe On-Site Service Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, qualification, validation, and support of complex laboratory automation systems. This role serves as a primary technical resource for customers by ensuring equipment reliability, performing preventive maintenance, supporting upgrades and validation activities, and resolving system issues.
