Join us in our mission to improve health and improve lives.\nLabcorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Unit Clerk to join our team in New York, NY.\nWork Schedule: Monday - Friday 10:00am- 6:30pm and alternating Saturdays 10:00am- 2:0pm, additional days and hours may be required\nJob Responsibilities:\nWorking directly with medical providers to coordinate patient testing needs within a fast- paced, medical environment.\nAble to navigate around a hospital setting to attend client needs to various suites.\nAbility to decipher, collect, and process complex test orders pertinent to hospital outreach settings.\nPerform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.\nCollect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.\nPrepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.\nAddress any customer service related issues in a prompt and respectful manner\nManage and monitor patient flow, wait times, inventory levels and information logs.\nPromote team work, cohesiveness and effective communication among coworkers.\nPerform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.\nWork with patients and providers to obtain pertinent demographic and billing information. Process and collect payments when required.\nObserve and report any performance, compliance or staffing related\nissues to supervisors.\nAdministrative and clerical duties as necessary.\nTravel to additional sites when needed.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nHigh school diploma or GED or equivalent\nAAMA or CMA accreditation\n2+ years of experience as a phlebotomist performing venipunctures\nPreferred Qualifications:\n5 years or more of phlebotomy experience\n2 years or more experience working in hospital\nundefined\nBilingual in English and Spanish\nAdditional Job Standards:\n·\n In depth knowledge of phlebotomy duties, responsibilities and techniques\nExperienced with pediatric draws & neonatal draws\nFamiliarity with ICD-9 coding\nProven track record in providing exceptional customer service· \nStrong communication skills; both written and verbal\nAbility to work independently or in a team environment· \nComfortably working under minimal supervision \nReliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable· \nAble to pass a standardized color blindness test\nAble to be flexible with scheduled hours to provide shift coverage as needed\nAt LabCorp we have a passion for helping people live happy and healthy lives.
