Join us in our mission to improve health and improve lives.\nWork Schedule\nThis is a full-time, exempt (salaried) position assigned to a First Shift schedule, with standard business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EDT. Business needs may occasionally require flexibility in work hours, including earlier, later, or additional hours, with reasonable notice provided when possible.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree.\n10 or more years of experience in software engineering.\nPreferred Qualifications:\n3 or more years of AWS experience including EC2, RDS, Lambda, and S3, with hands-on work in cloud-native application development. \n5 or more years of experience in Java and Spring Boot for building enterprise backend services. \n2 or more years of experience with Angular for developing modern, responsive web applications. \n2 or more years of PostgreSQL expertise including schema design, query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning for high-volume transactional systems. \n5 or more years of experience with large system design, database optimization, and high-volume data processing.\nAdditional Job Qualifications:\nProven experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs that are secure, performant, and maintainable. \nHIPAA compliance knowledge: Understanding of healthcare data security, privacy regulations, and audit trail requirements. \nStrong grasp of distributed caching strategies using Redis/ElastiCache. \nExperience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing strategies. \nTrack record of delivering complex software projects in production environments serving multiple customers.\nAdvanced degree in Computer Science or related technical field. \nHealthcare domain experience, particularly with laboratory systems, medical devices, or clinical workflows.\nExperience with Terraform for infrastructure as code and AWS resource management. \nFamiliarity with Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline development and optimization. \nDatadog or similar observability platforms for monitoring, logging, and performance analysis. \nExperience with event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing patterns. \nKnowledge of HL7, FHIR, or other healthcare interoperability standards. \nDatabase migration strategies for zero-downtime deployments in 24/7 environments. \nExperience with serverless architectures and AWS Lambda for specific use cases. \nContributions to open-source projects or technical thought leadership (blog posts, conference talks).\nMastery of software engineering principles and best practices.\nDeep technical knowledge in one or more areas of the technology stack.\nStrong understanding of the full software development lifecycle.\nExperience with scalable architecture and performance optimization.\nAbility to communicate complex technical topics clearly across teams.\nComfortable engaging in technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders.\nAbility to align technical solutions with business and product goals.\nPragmatic approach to problem-solving in fast-paced environments.\nDeep understanding of how technology solves customer problems.\nFlexibility to support customer-facing activities (e.g., implementation, audits).\nThe Principal Software Engineer is one of the highest-level individual contributor roles in software engineering, recognized for deep technical expertise across specific domains.
