Together, we’re improving health and improving lives.\nResearch Assistant (Study Tech) in Greenfield, Indiana\nLabcorp is seeking a Research Assistant to join our Animal Operations team in Greenfield, IN!\nWork Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00pm (once fully trained will require working every 3rd weekend (both Saturday and Sunday))\nJob Responsibilities:\nIn this position you will be conducting Animal Research studies that will be looking at the safety, effectiveness and toxicity of drugs that are in early development phase and/or chemical substances.\nMay provide husbandry duties to small and large animals\nPerform various dosing techniques with small and large animals\nMay perform bleeding techniques with small and large animals\nCollect biological samples\nPerform basic measurements such as body weight, food consumption, body temperature, blood pressure, etc.\nMaintaining the highest standards of animal care and welfare in accordance with Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC)\nPerform medical imaging\nMonitor for behavior changes\nDocument findings in LIMS\nReport on any animals concerns to supervisor\nMinimum Qualifications:\nAssociate’s degree in veterinary technology or related program OR Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, Biology, Wildlife Studies, or related life science field OR 2+ years of college in related Sciences field AND 1-2 years of hands on large or small animal care in laboratory/research or farming operation\nPreferred Qualifications\nPrior animal research experience\nExperience with using standard laboratory equipment such as scales, measures, pipetting\nAbility to follow research study procedures and document findings\nGood time management skills\nAALAS Certification is preferred but not required-we can help you obtain this!\nAdditional Job Standards:\nComfortable working with small and large animals in research environment\nAbility to assess and differentiate between normal and abnormal species-specific behavior for a variety of laboratory animal species\nAbility to effectively describe and communicate animal behavior observations using in accordance with established professional behavior terminology\nFlexibility to work overtime as needed\nPay Rate: $22/hr.\nWhat will you be doing?\nYour work will contribute to improving the lives and wellness of both people and animals around the world.
