We cultivate each employee’s growth, expand our expertise, and bring out the best in every client project.\nWe are seeking a Winter Survey Intern to join LaBella’s Survey Team in Rochester, NY.\nYou will work alongside experienced survey staff and under the direction of Licensed Professional Surveyors on field and office assignments supporting boundary and topographic surveys, construction staking, and other projects. This internship offers practical experience with survey equipment, field data, and mapping during the winter season.\nDuties\nAssist survey crew chief in the completion of survey field assignments. \nAssist the survey crew chief with field assignments, including measurements, notes, sketches, and site documentation. \nFollow LaBella’s safety procedures and work safely in winter field conditions. \nLearn to use survey equipment such as GNSS receivers, robotic total stations, levels, scanners, and data collectors, as project needs allow. \nAssist with field setup, locating features, and carrying equipment across varied terrain. \nHelp process survey data and prepare maps or other work products using Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, or other software under staff supervision. \nSalary Range: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour\nThe specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.\nRequirements\nCurrently enrolled in a surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or related program, or have equivalent relevant coursework. \nInterest in land surveying and willingness to learn field and office workflows; prior survey experience is helpful but not required. \nStrong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work well on a team. \nValid driver’s license. \nPhysical Requirements:\nDrive a passenger vehicle as needed for assignments. \nWear required personal protective equipment and work outdoors in cold, snowy, wet, or icy conditions when safe to do so. \nCarry 30 to 60 pounds of equipment multiple times a day, occasionally lifting up to 75 pounds. \nMove safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces. \nBenefits\nBody, mind, and wallet-LaBella’s benefits support a holistic approach to your health and wellness, creating the foundation for physical, mental, and financial well-being.
