We reward and recognize our employees based on our values of Aspire to Greatness, Respect All, Own It, Working Together, Persist with Passion.\nWho We’re Looking For:\nAs a key member of the R&D team, the Mechanical Designer is responsible for providing R&D support to existing products in Laborie’s portfolio as well as performing engineering activities in support of new product development. This includes design changes, material changes, specification changes, packaging changes, etc. in support of revenue, quality, and cost reduction goals.\nAbout the Role:\nDesign, develop, and maintain new and existing product components, assemblies, and layouts using SolidWorks\nExecute Engineering Changes in accordance with the Laborie Change Plan process\nCreate and maintain engineering documentation, including detail and assembly drawings, BOMs, process sheets,and fixture documentation\nPerform engineering analyses and support product development activities, including tolerance studies, prototyping, material selection, verification and validation, and manufacturing transfer.\nServe as the primary designer for assigned new product development and sustaining engineering projects, including current and future endoscopy platforms, urodynamics equipment and other.\nCollaborate with vendors, manufacturing, documentation control, and cross-functional teams to support product development, production, and issue resolution.\nManage site-level SolidWorks administration and perform other related duties as assigned.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.\n5+ years of related experience in a highly specialized environment.\nAdvanced knowledge of SolidWorks, PDM, AutoCAD, and Microsoft applications.\nExtensive knowledge of industry standard drafting practices.\nFamiliarity with a broad array of manufacturing practices (molding, machining, and sheet metal).\nPreferred Qualifications:\nProficiency in creating production - ready mechanical designs and drawings using GD&T, with solid understanding of tolerance stack up analysis, machining capability and DFM.\nExperience with collaborating between Altium and SolidWorks\nSolidWorks Cable Routing and Surface Modeling experience\nWhy Laborie:\nOur Mission every day is to operate as a world-class specialist medical company making and advancing technologies that preserve and restore human dignity.
