Working independently under limited supervision, performing highly complex and specialized software project activities.Can function as a leader on project teams and may oversee other engineers.Applying engineering and scientific principles to the evaluation and solution of technical problems in a creative manner unique to each project.\nAbout the Role:\nResponsible for design and implementation of system software, from concept phase through design transfer / product launch. \nAct as a mentor for new or lower-level software Engineers, as well as for \nall the members of the development team. \nTrain junior software engineers. \nAssist in the collection and documentation of user requirements, software development plans, software development time estimates, and resource efforts. \nIntegrate and support communication between different software development teams, projects, system engineering, Operations/Mfg., and the larger R&D team. \nComplete software design and development documents in compliance with Laborie QMS, ISO and other relevant standards. \nWork with the Software Test Team to develop test methods/cases, unit testing and/or V&V pass criteria and where viable assist with the development of automated test scripts. \nDesign modular software that is flexible and appropriate to a growing, multi-year program. Anticipate the software needs of future products and extensions. \nManages assigned work items according to provided priorities. \nMaintains high standards of software quality by closely following the department's Quality Plan. \nEstimates progress and reports on status of assigned projects. \nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in computer science and/or equivalent and 10+ years of experience. \nSolid track record of designing and developing production ready software, knowledge of software implementation best practices and deployment strategies \nPractical programming experience developing software (at least one modern OO language) for a medical device (IEC 62304). \nExperience with unit- and integration-level testing and automated testing is recommended. \nExperience in the following areas: \nC#/.NET/ SQL/Entity Framework/ADT/WPF/WCF/Unit Testing (NUnit, Moq) \nVisual Studio /MS SQL Server \nAutomation Build, Testing and Deployment (TestStack. White and/or CodedUI) \nTFS and related API \nStrong knowledge of design patterns and OO concepts \nAbility to quickly learn new technology and apply knowledge to solve technical and business problems. \nHighly organized with well-developed time-management skills and processes for managing multiple priorities. \nStrong analytical and quantitative skills. \nA meticulous working style with the ability to focus on details while holding the end goal in clear sight. \nStrong technical writing capability and excellent oral communication skills. \nMotivated self-starter with the ability to determine when to act and when to ask for support. \nAbility to work both independently and within a team in a fast-paced, changing environment. \nWhy Laborie:\nOur Mission every day is to operate as a world-class specialist medical company making and advancing technologies that preserve and restore human dignity.
