In this high-impact role, you will be a key contributor to the development and optimization of our Beam Conditioning systems. Working alongside physicists, chemists and developers, you will play a critical role in transitioning high-level R&D concepts into robust product architectures. This role requires a combination of deep theoretical understanding and hands-on experimental skill in laser cooling and atomic physics.\n\n This role is based in Bergen (Norway).\nKey Responsibilities\nThis list is not exhaustive; additional duties may be assigned as we grow.\nExperimental Development: Design, build, and optimize experimental setups involving laser cooling, atomic beams, and metastable atom sources.\n\nSystem Optimization: Work on the iterative improvement of beam conditioning modules, focusing on flux enhancement, beam control, and long-term stability.\n\nDiagnostics: Develop and implement advanced diagnostic systems, including spectroscopy, beam profilers, etc.\n\nHardware Integration: Collaborate with Optomechanical and CAD engineers to improve the atomic physics systems.\n\nOperational Support: Support the deployment of Lace systems and provide technical training to new AMO Squad members.\n\nDocumentation: Contribute to technical background documents and design reviews, providing supporting evidence through detailed calculations and references.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nEducation: PhD in Physics, Applied Physics, or a related engineering field with a focus on AMO physics or a Masters in Physics with 5 years of experience in AMO.\n\nTechnical Expertise: Proven experience with laser cooling, and atom optics.\n\nHands-on Skills: Proficiency in working with and aligning complex optical systems related to atomic physics experiments.
