We drive innovation to ensure our cutting-edge solutions are helping to solve the biggest challenges in the semiconductor industry.\nThe impact you’ll make\nAt Lam Research, the Engineering Technician for Metrology Equipment Engineering serves as a critical first responder for metrology tool issues, helping ensure laboratory efficiency, equipment availability and high tool utilization. This Monday-Friday position supports the day-to-day operation and sustainment of metrology equipment by performing fault isolation, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, coordinating with equipment vendors, tracking parts and assisting engineers with corrective actions and long-term reliability improvements.\nWhat you’ll do\nPerform testing, check-out, and troubleshooting using schematics, diagrams, descriptions, layouts, or defined plans.\nTests and troubleshoots system level and component level problems in electrical and mechanical systems and sub-systems.\nInspect materials, components, or products for surface defects and measure circuitry, using electronic test equipment, precision measuring instruments, microscope and standard procedures/BKMs.\nConduct operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment, help in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.\nSupport the design, construction, test, and check-out of test equipment.\nUse test and diagnostic equipment, including test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus.\nCollaborates with development engineers conducting engineering tests to collect design data or support in research efforts.\nWho we’re looking for\nRespond to and troubleshoot metrology equipment issues.\n\nPerform equipment testing, diagnostics, and maintenance activities.\n\nCoordinate repairs, parts, and vendor support.\n\nManage service requests, equipment records, and reporting.\n\nSupport engineering experiments, sample processing, and data collection.\n\nCollaborate with engineers and technicians to improve tool performance.\n\nMaintain a safe, organized, and efficient laboratory environment.\n\nPreferred qualifications\nAssociates degree, Technical Certificate, Diploma or higher in a technical field.\nExperience in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, bioengineering, metrology, lab operations, or related areas.\nExperience in semiconductor or laser/optics, is a plus.\nOur commitment\nWe believe it is important for every person to feel valued, included, and empowered to achieve their full potential.
