In Hardware group, mechanical engineers, simulation analysts, electrical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and supplier quality engineers contribute to designing and improving Lam’s products.\nThe impact you’ll make\nAs a Mechanical Engineer at Lam, you're designing and defining cutting-edge mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. Your role involves feasibility studies, testing, and guiding teams in detailed design and fabrication. You provide the crucial design information needed to shape our technology's packaging.\nWhat you’ll do\nLead mechanical and electromechanical product development from concept through release and sustaining engineering.\nTranslate system, reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost requirements into robust design solutions.\nDevelop concepts, perform trade-off studies, and create detailed 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and specifications.\nApply engineering analysis including structural, thermal, vibration, fluid, and gas flow evaluations to optimize designs.\nPerform or support FEA and other simulations to assess performance and mitigate technical risks.\nSelect appropriate materials, manufacturing processes, coatings, and surface treatments based on application requirements.\nApply GD&T, tolerance stack-up, DFM, DFA, and Design-to-Cost principles.\nDevelop and execute feasibility studies, validation plans, and engineering tests.\nAnalyse characterization and validation data and drive design improvements.\nSupport prototype builds, qualification, release, and engineering change implementation.\nInvestigate product and field issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, reliability, performance, manufacturability, and cost.\nCollaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and global stakeholders.\nPresent technical solutions, risks, analyses, and validation results during design reviews.\nWho we’re looking for\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years, or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of relevant product development experience.\n\nExperience in mechanical design, engineering analysis, product validation, and manufacturing processes.\n\nWorking knowledge of Teamcenter (TCE) / PLM, including BOM management, engineering change management (ECR/ECO), product release, and document control.\n\nExperience with PLM automation, workflow development, scripting, or digital engineering process improvements.\n\nPreferred qualifications\nProven experience leading mechanical designs from concept through production release and validation.\nProficiency in NX, Creo, or equivalent 3D CAD tools.\nStrong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and engineering documentation.\nExperience in mechanical design, material selection, manufacturing processes, and design optimization.\nSolid understanding of structural, thermal, vibration, fluid, and gas flow fundamentals.\nExperience with DFM, DFA, Design-to-Cost, and Reliability Engineering methodologies.\nHands-on experience developing and executing engineering validation plans and tests.\nProficiency in PLM systems (Teamcenter/TCE or equivalent), including change management, product release, workflows, and BOM management.\nExperience in PLM automation, workflow customization, scripting, API-based integrations, or digital engineering automation tools.\nStrong technical communication, design review, and problem-solving skills.\nExperience using structured methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, DFMEA, and Root Cause Analysis.\nOur commitment\nWe believe it is important for every person to feel valued, included, and empowered to achieve their full potential.
