Your role involves feasibility studies, testing, and guiding teams in detailed design and fabrication. You provide the crucial design information needed to shape our technology's packaging. This Engineering Quality ME will have a direct and highly impactful influence on Engineering Quality. You will solve real-world problems, in a fast-paced environment, and provide solutions to internal and external groups. You will be involved in and directly contribute to highly impactful PG programs and projects. You will impact areas of direct concern to the customer.\nWhat you’ll do\nDesign and develop mechanical components and assemblies for complex semiconductor manufacturing equipment.\nHave a high degree of autonomous ownership for driving engineering solutions and solving quality issues, across a highly varied array of mechanical modules within our product line.\nOwn projects that are highly visible and have direct, high impact on the customer.\nCreate and maintain 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and engineering documentation in accordance with Lam standards.\nPerform engineering analysis (e.g., tolerance analysis, thermal-mechanical considerations, structural integrity) and validation activities to support design decisions.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams including Systems, Process, Electrical, Controls, Software, and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure successful subsystem integration.\nSupport phase-gate activities (Preliminary Design Review (Pre-DR), Detailed Design Review (DDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), and Final Design Review (FDR)) by delivering assigned mechanical design milestones on schedule.\nParticipate in design reviews, risk assessments, and failure analysis, contributing to Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and corrective action efforts.\nWork with Manufacturing Engineering and Supply Chain partners to ensure designs are manufacturable, serviceable, and cost-effective.\nWho we’re looking for\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience; or 3+ years with a Master’s degree; or equivalent practical experience.\nSolid foundation in mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.\nExperience creating detailed mechanical designs using 3D CAD tools (e.g., Creo, NX).\nAbility to read and interpret system requirements, drawings, and interface documentation.\nHands-on experimental and design background coupled with solid engineering skills.\nStrong analytical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to drive clear design decisions within the engineering team.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills and technical presentation skills.\nAbility to work productively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.\nCreative-thinking skills are very important.\nPreferred qualifications\nExperience with semiconductor manufacturing equipment or other complex electro-mechanical systems.\nFamiliarity with wet processing, fluid handling and fluidic system design, thermal management, and chemical-compatible mechanical design.\nExposure to New Product Introduction (NPI) development processes, phase-gate reviews, or prototype builds.\nKnowledge of Design for Excellence (DFx) principles (reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, safety).\nOur commitment\nWe believe it is important for every person to feel valued, included, and empowered to achieve their full potential.
