We drive innovation to ensure our cutting-edge solutions are helping to solve the biggest challenges in the semiconductor industry.\nThe impact you’ll make\nAs a Metrology Technician, you will operate several generations of FEI/Thermo Fisher dual-beam Helios focused ion beam (FIB) tools, including the latest microscopy models, to prepare transmission electron microscopy (TEM) lamellae or image prepared lamella samples using in-situ 30keV STEM detectors. The samples represent a diverse set of processes across integrated circuit (IC) manufacturing products and will provide a dynamic set of challenges and opportunities for long-term growth. Your expertise and knowledge play a crucial role on our process team and in our customers’ success, impacting the next generation of semiconductor breakthroughs. This role is part of Lam Microscopy Services, supporting a large base of process engineers at Lam and handling a high volume of samples from multiple business units.\nWhat you’ll do\nPreparation of STEM/TEM samples and imaging of samples in Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (STEM) using Thermo Fisher Helios systems and may include FIB-SEM analysis. \nFollow lab methodology for STEM sample preparation consistent with quality standards.\nOptimize personal workflow for efficient throughput of samples. \nCommunication with lab management to provide work completion time estimates. \nProvide feedback to lab management for continuous improvement opportunities in lab workflows. \nCommunicate with team members to ensure alignment on methodologies. \nProtect customer material and IP at all times. \nWho we’re looking for\n2+ years of experience with a BS degree in a physical science, or a specialized AS degree, or equivalent professional training in materials science and analytical techniques.\nExperience operating dual-beam FIB/SEM tools, particularly in the preparation of thin lamellae for STEM or TEM imaging.\nFamiliarity with key developments and materials in the semiconductor industry is a plus.\nExperience with customer IP protection and proper sample handling is a plus.\nAbility to work a shift schedule.\nPreferred qualifications\n2+ years of experience operating dual beam FIB/SEM tools for the preparation of lamella for STEM or TEM imaging.\nBachelor's or Associate degree in a physical science\nAssociate degree with complementary work experience\nExperience in semiconductor experience is a plus.\nOur commitment\nWe believe it is important for every person to feel valued, included, and empowered to achieve their full potential.
