Your expertise will determine hardware compatibility and influence design, ensuring seamless integration between software and hardware.\nIn this role, you’ll make an impact across Lam’s entire product portfolio of equipment working within our centralized software engineering team, collaborating with some of the brightest minds in the industry.\nWhat you’ll do\nDesign, develop, verify, validate, debug, and qualify software for controllers and computers managed by the Controls group.\nManage the software product lifecycle and maintain comprehensive, accurate design documentation.\nCollaborate with hardware and firmware engineers throughout product development, integration, and debugging.\nPartner with systems engineers to ensure seamless product integration and qualification.\nRequired Qulaification\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.\n3 to 8 years of experience in software design and development.\nExpertise in creating Golden OS images for custom Windows-based controllers using tools such as Windows PE and Ghost.\nExperience with real-time operating systems, such as FreeRTOS, real-time Linux, VxWorks, QNX, or Windows Embedded.\nKnowledge of bootloaders and boot managers, including GRUB and U-Boot.\nProficiency with communication protocols, including EtherCAT, CAN, UART, RS-232, RS-422/485, Ethernet (TCP/UDP), and LonWorks.\nHands-on experience with version-control systems such as Git.\nStrong software debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills\nPreferred qualifications\nHands-on experience with the Smalltalk programming language.\nProgramming experience in embedded C/C++ and Python.\nExperience developing and integrating device drivers.\nPractical experience integrating and testing hardware and software in embedded systems.\nOur commitment\nWe believe it is important for every person to feel valued, included, and empowered to achieve their full potential.
