As an Embedded Engineer at Lam, you will be at the forefront of innovation by designing, developing, and troubleshooting, and debugging hardware and firmware for Embedded products. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.\nIn this role, you’ll make an impact across Lam’s entire product portfolio of equipment working within our centralized Controls engineering team, collaborating with some of the brightest minds in the industry.\nKey Responsibilities\nExecute design, development, verification, validation, and qualification of Embedded products owned by the Controls group.\nOwn and manage complete product lifecycle of embedded modules, including comprehensive design documentation.\nCollaborate with hardware and software engineers during product development, integration and debugging processes.\nQualification\nBachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (EE, ECE, or related disciplines).\n5-8 years of experience in firmware design and development.\nMandatory Skills\nMandatory Qualifications\nExpertise in Design, development of Embedded software. BSP, device drivers for ARM Arch processors, FPGAs or SoCs.\nProficiency in programming with Embedded C/C++, and scripting languages such as Python.\nHands on experience on RTL development, firmware testing using HDL languages such as Verilog and VHDL.\nHands-on experience of implementing communication protocols, like EtherCAT, CAN, UART, SPI, RS-232, RS-422/485, Ethernet, and LonWorks.\nStrong debugging and troubleshooting skills in hardware and firmware domain.\nHands-on experience in using lab test instruments for debugging and testing.\nPractical experience in hardware/software integration, testing and documentation for embedded products.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in creating custom embedded Linux systems using tools like Yocto and Buildroot.\nHands-on experience with version control systems like Git.\nExperience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS, Linux RTOS, VxWorks, QNX, and Windows Embedded.\nFamiliarity with tools like MATLAB, LabVIEW for system modeling and analysis.\nWorking knowledge of IDE like Xilinx Vivado, Altera Quartus, Code composer/Keil.\nOur commitment\nWe believe it is important for every person to feel valued, included, and empowered to achieve their full potential.
