Your expertise will determine hardware compatibility and influence design, ensuring seamless integration between software and hardware.\nIn this role, you’ll make an impact across Lam’s entire product portfolio of equipment working within our centralized software engineering team, collaborating with some of the brightest minds in the industry.\nWhat you’ll do\nQuality Engineering & Test Automation\nDesign, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies for desktop-based and equipment control software applications.\nCreate and maintain automated test suites to improve release quality, coverage, and execution efficiency.\nDevelop test cases, test data, test plans, and validation scenarios for new product features and software releases..\nProduct Validation & Customer Support\nQualify new software releases, patches, and enhancements before deployment to customers.\nInvestigate, reproduce, analyze, and troubleshoot customer-reported software issues.\nPerform detailed log analysis, debugging, root-cause identification, and defect reporting.\nPartner with engineering teams to ensure timely issue resolution and high-quality customer outcomes.\nTechnical Leadership & Collaboration\nProvide technical leadership in software testing activities across product releases and development programs.\nMake informed testing decisions and recommend appropriate validation approaches based on product architecture and risk assessment.\nCollaborate with software developers, quality engineers, systems teams, and customer support organizations globally.\nCoordinate testing activities, track execution progress, and deliver accurate quality reports to stakeholders.\nContinuous Improvement & Innovation\nDrive quality improvements through automation, process optimization, and modern engineering practices.\nWho we’re looking for\nMinimum Qualifications:\nRequired Qualifications\n6+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, Test Automation, or Software Validation.\nStrong understanding of software testing methodologies including Functional, Integration, Regression, System, GUI, and Performance Testing.\nExperience developing automated test solutions for enterprise, desktop, or control software applications.\nProficiency in programming or scripting using Java, Python, or similar languages.\nHands-on experience with GenAI tools such as GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT for testing and automation activities.\nAbility to independently own testing activities.\nStrong analytical, debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.\nUnderstanding of computer architecture and operating systems.\nExcellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.\nWillingness to work on desktop-based applications, equipment control software, and hardware-integrated software solutions.\n\nPreferred qualifications\nExperience building Generative AI agents to support QA workflows and testing functions.\nKnowledge of AI-assisted or vibe coding techniques for automated test generation.\nFamiliarity with automation frameworks and modern testing tools.\nExperience with Unix/Linux operating systems.\nExposure to semiconductor equipment software, industrial automation, or hardware-integrated applications.
