Lambda’s designated work-from-home day is currently Tuesday.\nAbout the Role\nLambda’s Cloud Console is where customers discover, provision, and manage the infrastructure behind their AI workloads. Through the console, customers manage GPUs and clusters, configure networking and identity, monitor usage and billing, and navigate increasingly sophisticated enterprise workflows.\nWe are looking for a Lead or Staff Full-Stack Software Engineer to help define and build the next generation of this experience. You will own complex, customer-facing initiatives across the frontend, API, and service layers while helping the team establish scalable architecture and strong engineering practices.\nThis is a high-impact individual-contributor role for an engineer who combines product judgment with technical depth. You will work closely with Product and Design, partner with teams across the cloud platform, and turn complex infrastructure capabilities into UI and workflows that feel clear, reliable, and cohesive.\nWe are open to hiring at the Lead or Staff level. Level and scope will be determined by a candidate’s experience and demonstrated impact.\nWhat You’ll Do\nDesign, build, and operate end-to-end product experiences across our React and TypeScript frontend, APIs, and supporting backend services\n\nOwn major console initiatives from early discovery and technical design through implementation, rollout, measurement, and iteration\n\nTranslate complex cloud concepts-including compute lifecycle, networking, identity, governance, support, usage, and billing-into intuitive customer workflows\n\nPartner closely with Product and Design to clarify requirements, explore tradeoffs, and shape solutions that balance customer value with technical sustainability\n\nCollaborate with our API Experience, Billing, Platform and Support teams to deliver cohesive features spanning multiple systems\n\nEstablish architectural patterns that improve frontend performance, reliability, accessibility, observability, and developer velocity\n\nRaise the engineering bar through thoughtful design reviews, code reviews, documentation, testing, and operational ownership\n\nIdentify recurring friction in the product and codebase, then lead durable improvements rather than isolated fixes\n\nMentor engineers and help teammates develop stronger product, architecture, and execution skills\n\nContribute to roadmap planning and technical strategy for the Console Experience team\n\nScope by Level\nAt the Lead Engineer level, you will typically:\nOwn the technical delivery of significant, ambiguous product areas\n\nCoordinate execution across several engineers and partner teams\n\nMake architectural decisions within the Console Experience domain\n\nImprove team practices and mentor engineers through hands-on technical leadership\n\nAt the Staff Engineer level, you will additionally:\nSet technical direction across multiple product areas or teams\n\nLead multi-quarter initiatives with broad architectural and organizational impact\n\nAlign teams around shared interfaces, patterns, and long-term platform investments\n\nAnticipate systemic risks and opportunities, influencing roadmaps beyond the immediate team\n\nServe as a trusted technical partner to engineering, product, and design leadership\n\nYou\nHave extensive experience building and operating production web applications across the frontend and backend\n\nHave led the design and delivery of substantial customer-facing systems in a fast-moving environment\n\nAre highly proficient with modern frontend development, including React and TypeScript\n\nCan design and reason about APIs, service boundaries, data models, asynchronous workflows, and distributed-system failure modes\n\nHave strong product judgment and care deeply about usability, especially when presenting complex technical systems\n\nCan bring structure and momentum to ambiguous problems without waiting for every requirement to be defined\n\nCommunicate technical decisions clearly through design documents, diagrams, reviews, and direct collaboration\n\nBuild alignment across teams without relying on organizational authority\n\nBalance short-term delivery with reliability, maintainability, and long-term architectural health\n\nTake ownership of production outcomes, including testing, observability, incident response, and continuous improvement\n\nInvest in the growth and effectiveness of the engineers around you\n\nNice to Have\nExperience building a cloud console, infrastructure product, or enterprise SaaS application\n\nFamiliarity with GPU infrastructure, Kubernetes, networking, identity and access management, or cloud control planes\n\nExperience evolving a frontend architecture or design system across multiple teams\n\nWhat Success Looks Like\nWithin your first year, you will have:\nDelivered meaningful improvements to core customer workflows in Lambda’s cloud console\n\nEstablished clear technical ownership of one or more important product areas\n\nImproved the architecture, quality, and operating practices of the systems you touched\n\nHelped partner teams deliver more consistent end-to-end customer experiences\n\nRaised the effectiveness of the Console Experience team through technical leadership, mentoring, and sound judgment\n\nSalary Range Information\nThe annual salary range for this position has been set based on market data and other factors.
