Technician

XPLORE & Athens Olympic Museum

Based @ Golden Hall, Marousi, Athens

The Technician will ensure all in-house activities are operational, and be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repairs and monitoring of the interactive exhibits and installations.

Indicatively, the Technician will assume the following tasks:

• Monitor service requests and coordinate repairs to keep building equipment and infrastructure functional and efficient
• Perform basic mechanical repairs, as well as basic electrical, electronic and mechanical fault finding
• Carry out daily checks of the interactive exhibits, based on maintenance manual guidelines
• Keep all documentation of both routine inspections and repairs up-to-date and in line with both internal and external procedures
• Complete log sheets, repair reports and warranty request forms
• Isolate any faulty units & provide comprehensive fault reporting to the original supplier
• Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure the best experience for our visitors based on the right and safe operation of all the equipment and installations
• Is responsible for maintaining excellent relationships with contact persons and external partners/subcontractors, providing high-quality services, coordination and regular, proactive and accurate communications
• Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations for a secure working environment
• Collaborate on project plans, timelines and budgets for electrical works

Event Support - Athens Olympic Museum

• Provide dedicated on-site technical support throughout events held at the Athens Olympic Museum, ensuring the smooth operation of all technical equipment and installations.
• Help with the preparation of each event, according to the client’s requirements, including furniture arrangement, audiovisual equipment, lighting and any other technical or operational need.
• Ensure the venue is restored to each standard set up once the event has ended.

You will be a successful candidate for our job opening, if you can identify yourself with the following criteria:

Academic Qualifications:

• Degree or Diploma as an Electrician / Electrical Technician from Technical University (ex-TEI), EPAL, SAEK (ex-IEK) or equivalent technical school
• Fluency in English (both written and verbal)
• Basic IT skills and good at data recording and relaying information to a 3rd party
• Basic understanding of show controllers, lighting and audio systems
• Ability to understand and follow maintenance and repair instructions

Professional Experience:

• About 3-5 years of maintenance and repairs experience in a related environment

• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Highly organized with positive and flexible attitude
• Ability to work in a fast-paced organization
• Ability to communicate efficiently with sub-contractors, the Management and team members
• Flexibility with working hours, as shift work is entailed and mostly during weekends
