This position performs a variety of code compliance inspections and investigations related to residential, commercial, and industrial properties. The Senior Code Compliance Officer also serves in a lead role by supporting staff assignments, monitoring performance, and helping ensure high-quality service and enforcement throughout the community.\nThis position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working in the field, responding to citizen concerns, maintaining accurate records, and helping uphold community standards through fair, professional, and consistent code enforcement.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nMay include, but are not limited to, the following:\nPerform a variety of code compliance inspections involving residential, commercial, and industrial properties\nInvestigate citizen complaints regarding potential code violations\nServe as the lead staff person for commercial code enforcement, including enforcement of IPMC standards, abandoned signs, and general upkeep of commercial property\nInspect and survey public and private property for nuisances, sewage, trash, debris, and other unsanitary conditions\nUse computer systems to access citizen information for notices, contracts, and citations\nPrepare correspondence outlining code regulations, violations, and required corrective action\nMaintain accurate records and reports related to inspections, surveillance activities, and enforcement efforts\nRespond to and resolve citizen inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner\nTestify in court, as necessary, regarding code compliance violations\nDocument daily activities and maintain complete and accurate case records\nBe available for emergency after-hours inspections as needed\nAssign code officers to designated districts and track performance by conducting quality checks\nSupport supervision and daily coordination of code compliance officers\nPerform other related duties as assigned\nEducation and/or Experience\nHigh school diploma or GED required\nSupervisory experience required\nCertificates, Licenses, Registrations\nValid Texas Class C driver’s license required\nCertification as a registered Code Compliance Officer in the State of Texas required\nThe City of Lancaster offer a complete benefits packeage to full-time employees which includes: health care;
