Willingness to travel within this territory to gain insights into the region and understand prospects.\nSpecies focus: Calling on Dairy animal owners to evaluate existing feeding programs, and to recommend and assist them with their nutritional programs.\nKey Responsibilities:\nMake 25+ farms and facilities visits each week to assess feeding programs and recommend solutions\n\nDrive sales by introducing new feed products to customers and supporting existing customers\n\nDrive relationships with dealers, co-ops, and Purina experts\n\nLead educational events and demos to promote products and strengthen customer loyalty\n\nManage customer data and use analytics tools to deepen market knowledge\n\nCollaborate with internal teams and stakeholders, participate in meetings and training, and share feedback for continuous improvement\n\nCoordinate logistics and event materials with dealers and cross-functional teams\n\nGrow and apply business and industry skills to execute sales plans and growth opportunities\n\nPursue ongoing professional development and adapt to changing needs\n\nQualifications (Required):\nHighschool diploma or equivalent\n\n3 to 5 years industry experience or farm experience equivalent to sales experience or education\n\nSolid understanding of the industry, sales practices, or Purina products\n\nProven ability to build relationships and network to grow business\n\nStrong sales drive with experience making frequent customer calls\n\nSkilled in problem-solving and independent decision-making\n\nExcellent communication, organization, and time management skills\n\nQualifications (Preferred):\nBachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Agribusiness, or a related field preferred\n\nAbility to formulate feed related to Dairy Rations\n\nHigh internal drive, a natural ability for relationship building, and leadership in a team environment.\n\nCompetencies & Other Skills\nAdapt to changing market conditions with professionalism and integrity\n\nCommunicate clearly and organize work effectively\n\nBuild strong relationships and show leadership in teams\n\nMake daily sales calls and interact with customers in various environments\n\nNetwork within the industry to grow business\n\nLift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed\n\nDeliver effective presentations\n\nWork professionally with people at all levels\n\nSolve problems quickly and effectively\n\nDemonstrate agility and integrity in all interactions\n\nShow initiative and think creatively to address challenges\n\nWillingness to travel overnight (5-10%) and daily within assigned territory\n\nThis is a sales role that is compensated with a target mix of base salary plus commission.
