This hands-on role is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, boiler, chiller, and Building Automation Systems (BAS).\nWe are looking for an experienced facilities professional who can see the big picture of building performance-identifying opportunities to improve system reliability, energy efficiency, and operating costs while independently troubleshooting complex issues.\nKey Responsibilities\nOperate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot critical HVAC, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, air-handling equipment, plumbing, electrical systems, and BAS.\nServe as the technical escalation point for complex building system issues and provide hands-on troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.\nMonitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, reliability, equipment life, and operating costs.\nPerform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance and respond to equipment alarms, failures, and facility emergencies.\nCoordinate daily maintenance activities, review work orders, and provide technical guidance, training, and mentoring to facilities personnel.\nCoordinate and oversee contractors and service providers, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specifications.\nSupport capital projects, equipment installations, upgrades, commissioning, preventative maintenance planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nSupport boiler licensing, safety programs, inspections, environmental requirements, permits, and other regulatory compliance activities.\nDevelop and improve maintenance procedures and documentation for new and existing equipment.\nCollaborate with Facilities, Engineering, EHS, IT, R&D, and other campus partners to resolve facility issues and support project goals.\nHelp evaluate and justify the tools, equipment, and resources needed to improve safety, efficiency, and quality of work.\nQualifications\nRequired:\nMinnesota Class B Boiler Operator License, as applicable.\nMinimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, and experience.\nStrong hands-on experience with commercial or industrial building systems.\nAdvanced knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and BAS systems.\nDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex systems independently.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.\nAbility to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, controls, and equipment documentation.\nStrong communication and customer service skills.\nPreferred:\nTechnical degree, certificate, apprenticeship, or related skilled-trade training.\nExperience with BAS, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and air-handling systems.\nExperience in complex or mission-critical environments such as R&D, laboratories, data centers, manufacturing, or similar facilities.\nExperience coordinating contractors, leading projects, or mentoring technical staff.\nExperience identifying and implementing energy-efficiency improvements.\nAbout Land O'Lakes, Inc.\nJoin us and be part of a Fortune 250, farmer- and member-owned cooperative that is reimagining the business of food.
