Manages site assets, facility maintenance and modifications of equipment and ensures that all resources are available to production and other departments to maintain production systems, equipment, utilities, buildings, and grounds. In addition, this individual will work closely with Engineering, plant management, EH&S and Quality to development project scope, capital requests, and expense estimates. Additional duties include contractor / vendor selection and qualification, process design, equipment specifications and purchases, and project implementation including timeline coordination and execution.\nFosters collaboration and teamwork. Supports Land O'Lakes values and integrity in all plant activities. Promotes safety, and an environment for open, and timely communication.\nThe Maintenance Manager is responsible for the people leadership and development of all hourly and salaried direct reports according to the LOL vision and values. \nExperience - Education (Required):\nBachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Food Processing field and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an industrial plant with 3 plus years’ experience in a leadership capacity or equivalent. OR an Associate’s Degree in a mechanical/utilities related field with 7+ years of technical maintenance experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility to include managing people and capital projects.\nKnowledge and expertise with dairy or foods manufacturing processes.\nFood/Dairy/Chemical Manufacturing Processing experience requiring the use of a PSM regulated ammonia refrigeration system with technical knowledge of refrigeration and maintenance systems, equipment installation/startups and plant utility equipment.\nSolid project management, manufacturing processes, facilities construction.\nCompetencies - Skills (Required):\nProcess Control knowledge, electrical knowledge, strong Mechanical Aptitude, familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).\nPrinciples and practices of food manufacturing, including food safety, quality, manufacturing concepts.\nProject management planning and execution experience\nCurrent RETA Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator (CIRO) certification or ability to obtain RETA CIRO certification or similar training is preferred.\nAssist process designs, equipment specifications and capital estimates for process upgrades, modifications to existing systems and installation / commissioning of new assets.\nProvide methods, equipment recommendations and standard operating practices to optimize processes and meet product specifications.\nFacilitate training necessary to provide proper knowledge of the process and equipment.\nDevelop the skillset of maintenance personnel to ensure the proper technical knowledge is available on all shifts.\nAbility to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.\nSolid skills in organization, prioritizing and attention to detail.\nAbility to select, coach, develop, engage and retain a team of employees and provide periodic feedback to ensure development.\nComputer Skills including Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CAD, Project, Visio, and Catalyst.\nAbility to manage a department operating budget.\nStrong presentation and interpersonal skills with customers (internal and external) and vendors\nWorking knowledge of FDA and OSHA regulations, GMPs, Sanitation, and HACCP\n Experience - Education - (Preferred):\nBachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Food Processing\nDetailed knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems, process hazard analysis, process safety management.\nLabor Relations and union experience highly desired.\n Competencies - Skills (Preferred):\nCollaborate with engineers, suppliers, contractors, and plant partners to ensure customer needs are met.\nEncourage close teamwork between all functions (Engineering, Production/Operations, Safety, Sanitation, Quality, Management, etc.).\nContinuous Improvement (CI) Processes/Lean Maintenance and TPM experience preferred.\nUnderstanding of regulatory requirements for food safety.\nExposure with refrigeration, utilities and wastewater treatment equipment and processes.\nExperience with Cause Mapping Analysis and Reliability Centered Maintenance Analysis\nUnderstanding of Vibration, Infrared, MLT, Ultrasonic, and Motor Circuit evaluation\nExperience and career history with \"Fortune 500\" type companies strongly desired\nNote: This role may require off shift hours, weekend and holidays as required.\nSalary Range: $93,360 - $140,040 .
