This is a full-time, on-site position.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nProject Planning & Pre-Construction\nEnsure all project prerequisites are completed, verified, and documented prior to construction start.\nAssist in developing scopes of work, reviewing proposals, and confirming contract compliance.\nImplement project procedures from identification through execution.\nPerform constructability reviews during the design process and provide input to help fast-track projects.\nStakeholder Engagement & Meetings\nFacilitate and lead key meetings, including:Pre-Construction Meetings - Align scope, schedule, logistics, and safety protocols.\nProgress Meetings - Review milestones, resolve issues, and maintain momentum.\nPunch List Meetings - Conduct final walkthroughs to identify and close outstanding items.\n\nDocument and distribute meeting minutes to ensure transparency and accountability.\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, and stakeholders.\nCoordinate work with schools and SCA stakeholders to minimize disruption and ensure compliance.\nSite Oversight & Quality Assurance\nConduct regular site visits to monitor progress, verify compliance, and ensure construction quality standards.\nIdentify and mitigate risks and delays through proactive site assessments and reporting.\nSchedule and perform compliance inspections as required by SCA/DOE and NYC regulatory agencies.\nKnowledge of General Construction, Mechanical and Electrical Systems, building products, construction details / design and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards\nKnowledge of Project estimating scheduling and cost control\nCoordinate with plan examiners and agency representatives regarding code compliance and document requirements\nDocumentation & Communication\nReview permit application documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with submission requirements\nReview and manage comprehensive project documentation, including:Project requirements\nSchedule of values\nSubmittals and RFIs\nProject schedules (preliminary, final, baseline updates)\nTwo-week look-aheads\nContractor pay applications\n\nCompile and deliver final project binders for customer records.\nManage material take-offs from plans and specifications and review detailed construction line-item estimates and proposals.\nContract & Customer Compliance\nUphold customer-specific procedures and ensure alignment with contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.\nProvide responsive support to resolve issues and maintain project continuity.\nReview and process change orders; manage scope changes due to unforeseen conditions with proper documentation and approvals.\nUnderstand compliance with NYC regulatory agencies (DOB, BEC, FDNY, DOT, DEP) for permitting, inspections, and closeout.\nFamiliar with DOB NOW and BISWEB filing systems required\nScheduling & Budget Management\nMaintain detailed activity schedules to meet procurement and project timelines.\nMonitor budgets and review contractor invoices in alignment with financial controls.\nRisk & Safety Mitigation\nProactively identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize delays, disruptions, and safety incidents.\nApply experience in safety and risk management to ensure compliance and maintain a secure project environment.\nChange & Issue Management\nManage changes to project scope, schedule, or budget with proper documentation, stakeholder communication, and formal authorization.\nAddress and resolve issues or conflicts that arise during construction using negotiation and mediation skills to maintain project momentum.\nEnsure all changes and issues are tracked, assessed for impact, and resolved efficiently to keep the project on track.\nTraining & Cross-Team Support\nTrain contractors on Gordian software and customer-specific procedures.\nSupport customers during contract bidding processes.\nFacilitate communication between customers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on goals and deliverables.\nKEY SKILLS - The ideal candidate for this role will excel in the following areas.\nCustomer Obsessed - Builds strong relationships through clear communication and proactive support.\nCollaboration - Works well with others, encourages teamwork, and values diverse input.\nOrganization - Skilled in managing project documentation and workflows with accuracy and efficiency.\nInitiative - Takes ownership, anticipates needs, and acts without requiring direction.\nAdaptability - Responds well to change, learns quickly, and embraces feedback.\nProblem Solving - Thinks creatively, explores options, and resolves issues effectively.\nProfessionalism - Maintains confidentiality and always acts with integrity.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nProficient in reading construction plans and specifications; experienced in comprehensive price proposal reviews.\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field; equivalent work experience may be considered. \n3-5+ years in construction procurement, management, or general contracting, with experience in both horizontal and vertical construction preferred.\nStrong knowledge of commercial public construction operations, pricing, contracting, scope development, and estimating.\nStrong knowledge of NYC regulatory agency requirements for project filing, permitting, inspection, and closeout (DOB, FDNY, DOT, DEP).\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills; capable of managing multiple concurrent projects in both planning and execution phases.\nExceptional communication, customer service, and teamwork skills; flexible, strategic, results-driven, and highly organized.\nProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel);
