To be successful in this role one must be able to work effectively in a fluid, fast-paced environment. This role requires good communication skills, both with team members and business contacts. In addition, the successful Database Administrator must be able to work with minimal supervision on multiple concurrent projects.\nKey Responsibilities\nResponsible for administering, maintaining, and optimizing PostgreSQL/EDB databases across enterprise environments.\nKey responsibilities include production support, performance tuning, backup and recovery, high availability, disaster recovery, database patching, upgrades, cloud migrations, security, monitoring, and automation.\nRequires hands-on PostgreSQL experience, strong SQL and Linux skills, and the ability to troubleshoot database issues independently while collaborating with application and infrastructure teams.\nDevelop new or maintain existing databases based on specifications \nResolve database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues. \nImplement data models and database designs into physical databases. \nManage security of database structures and corporate data held within databases \nDevelop database procedures, triggers and SQL scripts in coordination with development teams. \nDevelop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the assigned application(s), functional area(s) or project(s) \nCompany Values\nSupports and adheres to Company’s core values.\n\nPerforms other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required.\n\nSupports and adheres to Company’s Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy.\n\nRepresents Company in a positive, professional manner when working with both internal and external customers.\n\nEducation & Experience\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree\nMinimum Years of Experience: 2+ years of database administration experience\nCertifications:\nPostgreSQL Certified DBA\nPreferred Qualifications:\nAbility to work with demanding customers and demonstrate PostgreSQL professional skills in a consulting manner\nRespond quickly and effectively to production issues and taking responsibility for seeing those issues through resolution \nDecisions have moderate effect on business\nWorking Conditions:\nTypical indoor office environment with the majority of time spent sitting and working on a computer using keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Occasional use of other devices such as: phone, copier/printer/fax, etc. \nPhysical Requirements:\nTypical office setting. Required to stand; walk; crouch; or handle objects. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.
