The role covers both containerized deployments on Kubernetes (GKE and RKE), delivered using CI/CD pipelines and automation, and multi-tier deployments of the Head-End System (HES) across Windows and Linux servers. Across both, the TIM takes the Landis+Gyr solution from environment readiness through to production, covering the full stack from head-end software to field network endpoints.\nWorking closely with Program Managers, infrastructure teams, customer IT and operations teams, and Landis+Gyr engineering and product groups, the TIM is accountable for a successful go-live. This includes resolving technical issues that arise during deployment and the hypercare period, and transitioning the solution smoothly to the support organization. The role calls for deep hands-on DevOps expertise and a strong working knowledge of GCP, combined with the planning and customer-facing skills needed to deliver complex deployments on schedule.\nKey Responsibilities\nOwn the end-to-end technical deployment of Landis+Gyr AMI solutions for new customers and upgrades, from environment readiness through go-live, planning activities with Program Managers and managing dependencies and risks.\nValidate that provisioned GCP and RKE environments meet deployment prerequisites, working with the infrastructure teams responsible for provisioning them.\nDeploy, configure and upgrade containerized applications on Kubernetes (GKE and RKE) using Docker and Helm charts.\nInstall, configure and upgrade the Head-End System (HES) across its multi-tier architecture (network, metrology, web, application and adapter tiers) on Windows and Linux servers, including IIS and .NET-based components.\nUse and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or similar) and scripting (PowerShell, Bash) to automate deployment, upgrade and rollback, and build reusable deployment templates across customers.\nSet up monitoring, logging and alerting so deployed applications are production-ready at go-live.\nDeliver integrations between the Landis+Gyr head-end and customer enterprise systems (e.g., MDM, CIS).\nLead System Acceptance Testing (SAT) for new deployments and upgrades, driving defects to resolution.\nTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues during deployment and hypercare through root cause analysis, engaging engineering, product, infrastructure and support teams as needed.\nManage the formal handover to support teams, including operational documentation, runbooks and knowledge transfer.\nFollow formal change control processes and keep ServiceNow records complete for deployment-phase changes and issues.\nAct as the customer's technical point of contact, leading technical workshops and liaising across Landis+Gyr business units throughout the deployment.\nKey Competencies\nAutomation-first mindset, making every deployment repeatable, version-controlled and scripted\nProven ownership of complex deployments end to end, from planning through go-live\nStrong planning and prioritization skills across parallel workstreams\nMethodical analytical and troubleshooting skills, with sound technical judgment\nClear, confident communicator with customer technical teams, both written and verbal\nSelf-starter who works independently, collaborates across teams and performs under time pressure\nWillingness to travel to customer sites (~50%)\nTechnical Skills\nRequired:\nKubernetes: deploying and managing production workloads on GKE and RKE (Rancher Kubernetes Engine)\nContainers and packaging: Docker, Helm charts\nCI/CD: working with and maintaining pipelines in Jenkins or similar tools\nGoogle Cloud Platform (GCP): strong working knowledge of core services, as a user of GCP-hosted environments\nInfrastructure as code: working knowledge of Terraform\nScripting and automation: PowerShell, Bash\nVersion control: Git\nOperating systems: Linux/Unix and Microsoft Windows Server, for application deployment\nDatabases: Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL\nNetworking: IP suite and wireless/RF/broadband communication technologies\nIIS and .NET Framework\nPreferred:\nMonitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)\nHardware Security Modules (HSM) and load balancers\nTwo-way AMI technology, from head-end software to field endpoints\nQualifications - Education and Experience\nB.E./B.Tech in Electronics & Communication, Computer Science or IT\n10+ years of industry experience, including at least 6 years in DevOps, cloud-based or technical deployment roles\nExperience deploying multi-tier enterprise applications on Windows and Linux server environments\nExperience delivering solutions that combine software and hardware\nCustomer-facing experience, including independent travel to customer sites\nEnergy utility or AMI operations experience is a plus\nWe value and encourage diversity in our team.
