This individual will serve a key function in assisting the planning and designing of civil engineering land development projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a passionate, collaborative team of civil engineers, working on exciting and meaningful projects across many different market sectors.\nJob Responsibilities\nEffectively use reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects;\nPrepare the planning and designing documents of civil engineering, land development and infrastructure projects in close collaboration with Project Engineers using engineering and design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.) and equipment;\nPerform zoning and other feasibility assessments for development projects;\nPerform field inspection services, as needed;\nWrite and/or review draft reports, including feasibility studies, stormwater management reports, technical specifications, and utility reports;\nInteract in a professional manner with client and subcontractor representatives in close collaboration with supervisor; and\nPerform other duties as requested.\nQualifications\nAssociate degree in Engineering Sciences, enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program with a focus in Civil Engineering, demonstrated equivalent knowledge, OR extensive AutoCAD/Civil 3D training;\n1+ years of experience in site/civil design, including site planning, grading, stormwater management, drainage, and soil erosion is desired;\nFamiliarity with local, state, and federal land use permitting;\nStrong AutoCAD and Civil 3D design skills;\nOccasional travel to project sites and/or client locations, as required;\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills;\nStrong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;\nAbility to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and\nPossess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver’s license in good standing.\nLangan provides a rich array of programs and benefits to help its employees advance their careers and enhance the quality of their lives.
