This individual will directly support Langan’s General Counsel and Assistant General Counsel and will play a key role in managing a wide range of contract matters across the firm. This role provides the opportunity to support diverse legal needs in an environment that presents evolving challenges and meaningful opportunities for growth. The position is heavily focused on professional services agreements within the A/E/C industry, with the ability to expand into broader in-house responsibilities as the department continues to evolve. While the preferred location for this role is our corporate headquarters in Parsippany, NJ, or New York City, candidates in other geographies will be considered.\nJob Responsibilities\nDraft, review, analyze, and interpret professional services agreements, subcontract agreements, and other commercial agreements (e.g., access agreements, reliance letters, lender consents, assignments);\nPrepare redlines, comments, summaries, and recommendations with respect to professional and subcontracted services agreements; \nActively negotiate agreements with internal and external stakeholders;\nSupport the General Counsel and Assistant Counsel with managing contracts, contract tracking, and refinement of contracting process;,\nSupport contract negotiations and escalate higher-risk items appropriately;\nAssist in completion of RFQs, certifications, prequalification forms, legal disclosures, and supplemental questionnaires;.\nDraft legal correspondence such as demand letters for outstanding A/R;\nManage filing of mechanic’s liens;\nCollaborate with internal teams to collect required data, approvals, and business input as needed; and\nPerform other duties as required.\nQualifications\nMinimum of 5 years of relevant experience \nJD preferred;\n1-3+ years of contract law experience with a focus on professional services agreements for engineering, construction and/or architecture firms;\n\nExperience with professional service agreements, subcontracts, or prime consultant agreements;\nParalegal certificate or equivalent experience is a plus for non-lawyer candidates;\nExceptional organization and prioritization skills;\nAbility to excel in a fast-paced environment;\nExcellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills;\nProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills;\nStrong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities; and\nAbility to effectively work independently and in a team environment.\nLangan provides a rich array of programs and benefits to help its employees advance their careers and enhance the quality of their lives. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. Certain roles may be eligible for overtime and participation in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm.
