This individual will serve a key function in providing the scope and execution of field investigations, identifying an implementing field and lab work solutions, identifying and classifying geological hazards, compiling geological data, and developing geological maps, logs, and reports. In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide technical direction oversight to staff, interact with clients and develop client relationships, and collaborate with Langan geology staff in other offices.\nJob Responsibilities\nDevelop scope and execute field investigations;\nIdentify and implement field and lab work solutions;\nIdentify and characterize geologic hazards in the field;\nResearch and compile geologic data for projects;\nWork with engineers to provide geologic support with respect to impact of site geologic conditions to site structures;\nCollaborate with Langan Geology staff in other offices;\nDevelop geologic cross sections, geologic maps, and other pertinent figures for project reports;\nProvide technical direction and oversight to staff;\nPrepare and review logs and reports;\nInteract with clients and contractors;\nDevelop and grow client relationships;\nManage projects and budgets; and\nPerforms other duties as requested.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Geology. Master's degree preferred;\nProfessional Geologist (PG) license registration. Engineering Geologist license preferred;\n10+ years of experience in the field of engineering geology;\nExperience with geologic hazard investigations, with emphasis on landslide, A-P fault rupture evaluations, and rockfall projects;\nExperience with performing detailed geologic mapping at a professional level;\nExperience with reviewing and interpreting stereo-paired aerial photographs;\nAbility to effectively communicate technical details to clients, co-workers and staff;\nExcellent technical writing skills;\nStrong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;\nAbility to effectively work independently and in a team environment;\nTravel may be required based on business needs and project assignments. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm.
